Oh, very good. Nice jacket.

He’s got a dog. We go to the pub on weekends. I’ve met his mum and dad …

… and his friends and all his family and I’ve no idea why I’m telling you this.

OMG, the HAIRCUT!!!  Oh, nooooooo!  Too funny, actually. He's such a great actor-- look at the way he's holding his head here, and the slack expression on his face. Wow.  But the HAIRCUT! *falls down laughing*   I have to admit, not as bad as that blond Julian Assange thing, but.... they used clippers on him to get this look in this picture.  heh

Mid-afternoon and I'm already thudded.  Thank you.  Those.....  eyes.....

We solve crimes, I blog about it, and he forgets his pants.  I wouldn't hold out too much hope!

Just this morning you were all tiny and small and made of clay!

I'm working my way up the greasy pole.  It's… very greasy.  And…  pole-shaped.

Hey, I think this is the same tee shirt and blue chambray shirt he had on under the herringbone sport coat in that pic posted a little while ago.  Anyway, say what anyone will about Top Gear, this was a damned fine interview, IMO.

Sorry, AG, as much as I love the curls but I do not agree regarding the hair. IMO this is a damn fine hairstyle.

Oh, god, Susi, it's terrible. He looks at least ten years older in it. I don't know anything about the movie, is it set back in the 40's or 60's or something? My father had a haircut like that in back in those days. Ugh. Matter of opinion, eh?

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

It wouldn't matter if it was the worst hairstyle on Earth.
Point is, he looks like Alan Turing!
Hell I went through all of this with silly fan girls over Assange:  don't like Benedict's blond hairstyle..
It's not a hairstyle, it's costume!

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

Exactly, BB. IMO he could wear drag as long as the part was good. Besides, I think he does look good in the pic but as you said, AG, it's a matter of opinion. You are right about the period. He plays the English mathematician Alan Turing, 1912-1954.

It's part of his role, naturally. And it's totally dreadful. Just sayin'.  I didn't say he was walking around the streets as himself looking like this or that he would adopt this as his new personal look-- not a total idiot here, y'know, nor a silly fangirl.

The hair reminds me of what the boys in my high school wore during the Beatles era in the mid-60s, when everyone wanted their hair like them, but the school said no boys' hair was allowed to touch their collars. Very familiar-looking from that way-back day-- long bangs, too short on sides and back. I appreciate that TPTB on set were aiming for an authentic look, but I don't have to like it. Again, just sayin', for the purposes of discussion.

Actually, this looks much better than in the first pic you posted, Susi. It's much more Benedict... but as you said, it's a role in a movie, it's not 'really' Mister Cumberbatch we're looking at here, it's Benedict in the role of Turing. In this pic though I can detect quite a bit of Benedict... but that's not what it's about anyway. I can't wait to see him in this role... but then again I guess I can't wait to see him in any of his roles.

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

I think this might be a Benedict and not a Turing pic.
