I know I've seen something like this before somewhere, but just now I stumbled across this... uh, this is so sweet, funny and sad at the same time!

Awww.. don't worry, Sherlock.... the chase will be on again soon....
(bigger pretty original here -
and big 'still' version for those who like to save a pic - )
Love how it took hardly no time at all for both joking and serious mock-ups with awesome pics of the trailer to surface...

Oh... But that tumblr article? Gah... Sometimes I just picture the different fandoms as people, and the Supernaturals, Potterheads, Whovians, etc. just standing there looking at the Sherlockian with a mixture of sympathy, wry humor, and (as the article hilariously showed) an awkward 'uhh... are you guys okay?' type look... (and collectively covering their ears every time the Internet blows up with screams from news of filming/trailer/what have you...) Chuckling so hard at a lot of those.
And then they just facepalm at us....
(easier to see big one!: )

I am quite certain other fandoms think we are all criminally insane!

And a question: Isn't every fandom insane? *hopefully blinking*

Love the pics, too. Well, the problem with our fandom is that we have only seven episodes to feed us through years and years of waiting and teasing by the team and patiently watching curls grow back. That is a hard job.

Oh, I wouldn't call it a problem, I'd rather say that's the glory of our fandom. Others may long have surrendered to the waiting, but the Sherlock fandom seems to celebrate the wait at every opportunity...
(And I'm saying this as someone who hasn't been with the fandom for very long, so I didn't have to 'suffer' as much as most fans... so my respect and admiration goes out to everyone who is far more 'waiting experienced' than myself. )

DITTO As a newbie myself I can't even imagine having to wait between Series 1 and 2!!!

True words! We really are The Fandom That Waited, like it says in SolarSystem's pic (love it BTW ). If other fandoms would have to wait as long as we do, only to get a mere 3 episodes which hardly help with lessening the desire for more..... *sigh*
This also describes our situation quite nicely :
