Re: Finally: The Sherlock/John picture thread

Look.  I really did not want to get into this here, wrong thread.
But here we go again: clarificaition.  What the writers actually said(and not what people imagine they said) is that they don't mind people seeing it as a romance.  But they never wrote it that way.
That was in the beginning,Since then,  Ian Hallard publically posted on Twit longer,an article (which has been posted on the forum) stating that he couldn't believe people were not only still carrying  the 'gay' thing but actually thinking they may see it in the show. Not going to happen.
Fine for fan art and fan fic and in people's heads.
But do not confuse that with what Mark, Steven and Stephen actually write and what they present.
I don't know why we're still discussing this.
But what I know for certain: it's not because it isn't clear.

Sheesh...I'm sure I've said this before, but for the show I ship them as a bromance. I know we're not going to see anything, I'm not stupid. But I do appreciate some nice Johnlock fanart/fiction now and then.

Feel the same way about Sherlock and John as I did about Mulder a d Scully.

I may watch the show with my slash-goggles firmly in place but I honestly don't want them to go there on screen.

Too many of my favorite ships have been sunk by breaking the sexual tension.  :-D

Yes, scene, setting and light, all just perfect.

Re: Finally: The Sherlock/John picture thread

Sherlock's reaction when John steps out of the locker room... one of the few occasions when Sherlock doesn't really know what's going on, at least for two seconds or so.
And of course: Westwood. (Uuhh, that would have been a really good user name on this board...! )

And discussing it is so much fun, Johnlock chat spills over into a lot of the threads on this forum. It's almost like living on an anthill, with the ants running everywhere so you can't squash them all, even when you try. lololol

Don't worry about that happening on Sherlock. The BBC will never, ever allow it. Sherlock is a huge money-maker for them, too mainstream to "go gay", the characters are too beloved by the general public, and they would NEVER allow the show to actually "go there". It's not like a male-female couple, where there wouldn't be any controversy about the appropriateness of them actually....touching! each other. I think it's weird that the writers write all that Johnlock innuendo into the show-- seriously, it's right there, in your face, several times in each episode-- but they know, and we all know that it will never happen on screen. I actually don't want it to happen. It's enough for me that it happens in my head and in my reading.

That's exactly the way I see it. I actually sometimes wonder why they are taking this extra-step from bromance to something... a little more than just that. Even by just having John say stuff like "I'm not gay" or "I'm not his date" they do not omly tell us that he's not gay, but they also sort of encourage us to let our minds wander in that direction in the first place. At least that's the way I see it.

They've changed quite a bit, though. Matured, the both of them. Which is A-OK with me.

It's fine. Makes it more realistic to see the passing of time in their faces.

Not only in THEIR faces! All that waiting even causes US to age prematurely. Well, some of us...
