Personally I think Martin's just trying to keep his hands warm!

I prefer the other idea...

You're really good at destroying all those romantic ideas around here!

Honestly, I try not to.
After all, this is verging on a Johnlock thread, so I think I have to hold off a little!
But there is no romance between them, plain and simple.
But they have the best bromance ever.

Oh, I didn't mean this too seriously, I hope you didn't get this wrong. And I really wouldn't want you to hold off. After all, it can also be fun to object with lots of good arguments.

Oh no, don't mind me: I'm as laid back as your avatar!
But I believe this thread belongs to Sherlock and John!

I just finished watching A Scandal In Belgravia again...some fabulous examples of their "bromance" in that episode

Sherlock knows exactly what John is like...he's seen the pictures on John's laptop!!

Yeah, but Sherlock and John doesn't necessarily have to be Johnlock all the time. There definitely are lots of moments that are really far, far away from Johnlock... hm, at least I think so...

John's expression is just soooo priceless, I absolutely love him in this scene. Well, I love all of them in this scene, for that matter. The dialogue is so great, I could watch this again and again.
Sherlock: "I'm not the Commonwealth."
John: "And that's as modest as he gets."

Yep, that's one of the best!

Yes, it's a great scene!
I especially love the moment when John enters and they have this small 'conversation' just with looking at each other...
And of course their giggling later!
As SolarSystem said, the dialogue is great; there are so many little gags...
IMO they deserve an award just for this bit!

I did think Martin was particularly good in this episode.

His non-verbal acting is simply brilliant.

The showrunners have left it up to the viewers' interpretation about whether there's a romance or not within the show. Each episode is full of innuendo about it, after all, and literally every character around them practically takes it as a given that they are "involved" but just not yet out of the closet about it.
But anyway, they're involved in a romance inside my own head. And in the fan fic I read, lol.

Agree, ag. If it were "plain and simple", we would not need to discuss it
