Getting tired of your Sh** Sherlock.
*snerk* This expression reminds me of that American sit-com from about 30 years ago, two black kids with an older stepfather who was white, I forget the name of it. The little guy always looked up at his big brother with a skeptical expression and asked him, "Whatchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis?" John looks just like that here. heh

I always figured it was a "He's finally gone crazy" look

oh yeah that's right! now you mention it, John reminds me of Arnold from Different strokes lol. Never missed an episode. In French he said "Qu'est ce que tu me racontes là? " (what on earth are you on about? " ) aww the memories!

Yes, Diff'rent Strokes! Thanks for remembering the name of the thing. I wonder why the French translated it from a British-sounding phrase, rather than from the original American, "What are you talking about?" We never say "what are you on about"-- that's pure Brit.

No, I have no idea what he was saying in the original version (I knew very little English at the time I was watching this! lol), I was just trying to translate the French words for you I didn't know that it was pure brit. Well, I live in the North of France, if I take the Shuttle, I'm in London in one hour and 20 minutes, that might explain why I'm more familiar with brit english! hehe.
Ah, Diff'rent strokes (in french, it was simply called "Arnold et Willy")... The actors from that show... quite a tragedy actually...
"Arnold" (Gary Coleman) had health problems (kidney illness), marital problems, debts...etc and died in 2010, aged 42.
"Willy" (Todd bridges) had a lot of problems after the show ended because he was a junkie.
"Virginia" (their adoptive sister in the show) , Dana Plato, became alcoholic an depressed. She lost the custody of her son. She starred in porn movies. And then committed suicide at the end of the 90's. She was in her early thirties I think. Some ten years later, her son committed suicide at the age of 25.
"Mr Drummond" (adoptive father), Conrad bain, died at the age of 89 at the beginning of the year.
Anyway, to come back to the subject...
HIS SHOES on that one! Epic!

John is mesmerized by Sherlock's everything. But then, who isn't.
