Finally! It's sooo great. Now I even more can't wait for the season 3! ;D
And that's just what the Moftiss wanted, now isn't it?

It is ;) And, as far as I noticed reading the people's comments on the net, the biggest sensation is John's moustache

New info from Mark Gatiss: Everything in the teaser IS actually from season 3! Sherlockology got it wrong somehow.
Now that's good news - it is actually worth analyzing the scenes until now, I thought we didn't need to discuss those scenes very much if they wouldn't even feature in the episodes...

Lestrade can be seen at the place where they investigated Ian Monkford's car.
Ah, so I wasn't mistaken after all. But that makes me wonder what in the world Lestrade might be doing in that place...
I love the idea of the John/Sherlock reunion happening in a restaurant, while John is preparing for a date or something. Somebody in this forum already mentioned the great possibilities of flying glass, shattered plates and so on
And I wish the first thing that Sherlock says to John would be: "John, you look ridiculous with that moustache!"

Oh yeah, I can imagine Sherlock mocking John's mustache, indeed, maybe first thing he'll tell him, like nothing had happened...
Anyway, although I could picture John punching Sherlock if their reunion had been more "intimate", I quite don't imagine John "misbehave" in a public place like a restaurant. But why not? I can picture the shock though, like he's expecting Mary to sit down and it's sherlock.
Anyway, I re-watched the trailer and manage to pause during the Molly scene. That moment lasts what, not even half a second, but you can see Sherlock's reflect in the mirror. So Molly's gonna look up and see his face in the mirror, wow, the shock!

The teaser could also be misleading, the actual reunion might happen someplace else - maybe Sherlock just plans on revealing himself to John in that restaurant, but then sees Mary sitting down at John's table and decides to retreat... or something similar.
Great job catching that moment with Sherlock's reflection in the mirror! I failed at doing that ;-)
I can hardly imagine the shock it must be for everyone when they see Sherlock... but at least Molly is - supposedly - aware that Sherlock's not actually dead and should therefore not be overly shocked. Can't be said for most of the other characters

Yeah, that's right, though I dunno, maybe he told her he'd never come back or something, so it'd still be shock. Well, anyway, if I were looking for something in my locker, thinking I am alone and then look up and see someone in the mirror, I would jump, even if it was someone I saw everyday! lol.
And about a possible misleading, I was just wondering that too in another thread (benedict's fav pictures). I was saying that it would be typically "moftis" to send us on a wrong track. Maybe this really happens in the same scene, but that indeed, Mary comes along before Sherlock gets a chance to approach John and then he can only watch the scene from apart, realising John has moved on, life went on during his absence, and so he doesn't dare to interrupt their diner, or maybe he even wonders whether he should come back to John's life or let him live a happy life and not trouble that. awww that'd be so sad...

According to canon, Sherlock was in disguise when he finally met John.
Maybe he pretends to be a waiter in that restaurant John's dining at?

Correct me, if I'm wrong, but: didn't they find his car in the open space near the river, where Sherlock also spoke so hilariously to Monkford's wife? And then later they go to the car again, right? Maybe that's some sort of police garage where they bring cars in in order to investigate them...?

I am not quite sure that Sherlock is acually in the restaurant. Somebody mentioned that it is called Daffodil. Is that the place with the entrance door and lead glassing? Can be clever editing though and there is a second room Sherlock went into where people took his coat and opened the door for him. This door looks a bit different. Difficult to say.

Yeah, you're absolutely right - I was referring to the scene when they go to the car again and Sherlock explains all about how Janus Cars helped Ian Monkford disappear. I think your idea that the place is some kind of police garage is great, and it would certainly explain why Lestrade is there again. Thanks!

Yeah, I just saw that on Mark Gatiss's twitter! That's...well, AWESOME! But I wonder why Sherlockology said that it wasn't really series 3 footage, were they just messing with us or mistaken?
Anyway, so now that we know the footage is real...time to start analyzing the crap out of it! *rubs hands together evilly*
So now that it turns out the footage is indeed real...that bit with Sherlock at the end, his face, breaks my heart even more . Like other's have said, I can see Sherlock bailing at revealing himself to John at that restaurant (from either apprehension or maybe something getting in the way) being likely, but it would be interesting to see that happen in that kind of environment. Sort of like book-ends, their first "date" at Angelos on the day they met, and then on the day Sherlock comes back to John...wherever their reunion ends up taking places, soooooooooooo excited to see it! *watches trailer again*

When the dust settles after Sherlock's return, he will be making fun of that moustache!
Oh God...what if he starts making deductions from it?

Hopefully that would lead to John shaving it off ;-)

Haha, that's a good one!
He eventually will shave it off, we've seen far too many pics of him in S3 without it.
As for the reunion: Since I first saw those pics of Sherlock and John sitting on that bench in a park I've been 'dreaming' of their reunion taking place right there. To me that feels so right somehow...

I think the moustache is probably fake. Martin didn't have one when promoting The Hobbit in December, and they started filming in March where he was seen with a moustache. Is it possible to grow one in just three months?

Yes, I definitely think so!

That it's fake or possible to grow one? Someone should ask him...

You know what this reminds me of? Jake Gyllenhaal with a moustache in Brokeback Mountain. I'm sure that one was fake, but everybody called it the pornstache

Oh that's great, because in my opinion it looks just absolutely terrible on John :-) and it also looks quite fake to me, I might add. Don't think Martin Freeman actually grew one for the filming...
