Sam - "I'm your brother, Dean, if you ever need to talk about anything with anybody, you got someone right here next to you."

I don't find that scene sad...tense, yes.  I would say the rooftop is sad, as is basically everything after that.  Until we see Sherlock in the graveyard- that's when I laughed.

I had been thoroughly spoiled for every major scene in TRF months before I ever got a chance to see it, so I knew Sherlock was alive all throughout. Still, it was cool to see him standing there in the cemetery, watching John like that. I didn't laugh, though, because I was still too busy crying for poor stoic John, ever the soldier, saying his piece, fighting the tears, then squaring his shoulders and marching out of that place. And Sherlock had to just watch. Ooooo, the angst!

I was like "Ha ha!  That's awesome...and smart!"

IE: they made the mystery not IF he survives (b/c of course he does, we know he does from the canon)...but HOW.  I loved it.  It's kind of like the when the Doctor regenerates...I'm crying really hard because I don't want to see him go...but then I start laughing at what the next Doctor does.  It's a great buffer for the sadness.

John: "Have you spoken to Mycroft, Molly, uh, anyone?"
Mrs Hudson: "They don’t matter. You do."

When I watched the episode with my boyfriend and he saw this scene, his comment was: "My God, he's a real diva!" I had to laugh so helplessly... and he's right, isn't he? The look on Sherlocks face just before they cut the scene is just priceless. When he's sharply breathing in I always have such a huge smile on my face - well, obviously I have a huge smile on my face throughout the whole scene, of course.
And I really love John's "Boys, please, not here." It's so much fun seeing him sort of stand between the two brothers so often, trying to be fair to both of them. Oh, John... he's such a good guy.

One of those intense moments in TRF in which you feel what's coming.

How about something from the pilot today?
