I like this picture because it reminds me of the lab scene in Hounds where Sherlock also put his feet on the table and was ready for the experiment to unfold.
In TRF when I saw him with his feet on the desk I was quite sure that he was relaxed and ready to face Moriarty. He looks as if he is well prepared, has a plan and is curious whether the rat will walk into the trap.
