Has anyone posted this before? I can't remember. I still love it anyways.

Interesting.
It's cool to contemplate what Sherlock would really wear for a hike outdoors, over rocks and stuff. IMO it's too bad that TPTB on the show didn't get the costume people after that question for the Hounds episode, figure out something. Wearing his dress clothing and fancy cashmere coat and those impossibly posh shoes while rock-climbing and smushing through the bogs in the dark, chasing the hound, is pretty impractical. And I'd pay real money to see the boy in an outdoorsy get-up, yes, I would! heh
Oh oh, I feel a swoon coming on, big time. *faints*

On my old forum, we all made complete twits of ourselves.
Cos we had a whole thread on a prospective Summer wardrobe for Sherlock!

Guess I'm a twit too because I have found myself wondering what the hell he wears when it's blazing hot out.
Tailored shorts?

I have tailored shorts but then again I am a girl ;)

I just think(certainly in the flat), he'd just wander about in his sheet and drop it to his waist when really hot...
You're welcome to that image.
Incidentally, what's special about ' tailored shorts'? Aren't all shorts tailored? I mean they're not created, farmed or quarried?!

Hmm, well, when I had an office job, I didn't even bother buying any summer clothes because there was no point. I couldn't wear them to the office (business casual and business professional only, no shorts of any kind), and when you spend 6 am - 6:30 pm getting to an from work 5 days a week, you really don't notice. So it wouldn't surprise me at all if he doesn't actually have any summer clothes at all.

He hardly has an office job.
Because the show is only filmed in the winter in cold Cardiff, we'll probably never see him out of that coat when he goes outside, alas.
A RL Sherlock would definitely have a summer wardrobe for running the streets of hot London. I'm sure he'd still look neatly put together, but a full suit with a cashmere greatcoat over would never do. He'd die of heatstroke. Plus look silly, and I don't think Sherlock would ever like to look silly.

I think these are the more elegant variety of shorts that can be worn on other occasions than visits to the beach. On a plane, for example. And with a nice jacket. Maybe they even have creases.

Ha... I'm not the only one!! I totally get they filmed during cooler months, and that he prides himself on a certain polished image, and heard it joked plenty of times that it's frequently gloomy over there. But even just the nice slacks and shirt, or a blazer... seemed strange to watch all the episodes, knowing it had to be spring at least at some point, and he's still wearing that heavy coat and scarf every time they go out!! Even John has a couple different jackets (although admittedly not the iconic look to keep up... ;P)
Anyhow... an oldie goodie soft-spot favorite to bring the boys back again....

Well, tailored for me means made to fit? So you don't buy them in a store.
Can you imagine sherlock shopping ;)

Yes, Saville Row, not off the peg.
I'd like to post a picture that is a bit different compared to those posted above. Mrs H. said: People can hardly move their faces. Well, some people can and these actors can obviously. I like Mr Cumberbatch in this Baskerville meltdown scene because he was ready show a side of himself that is not beautiful and expose himself.

My mother couldn't believe how much acting Benedict can do with his face.
As she said, he doesn't have to say anything.
He conveys it all with a look.
