Thanks, ancientsgate, for posting your recs here. I've just started to read some of the stories. Quite enjoyable stuff...
Oh, good! Glad you're enjoying. I'd love to hear about any your discover that you'd like to rec as well.
I hope you guys realize it's 10 am here, and I got off work at 7 this morning AND I have to be bank at work for a 16 hour shift at 2:30. So why is it you're posting this wonderful fic and making me loose all interest in sleeping? ?

I've recently finished reading an AU Johnlock fanfiction called "Starry Eyed" and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, one of those stories that gets better the more you read it (there is some quite disturbing content though, just a warning), and since the author I think was writing this as they went along, the writing became better, and of course the Johnlock content was awesome , and moving. I haven't seen it mentioned here, so I figured I'd recommend it for those who haven't read it
The author is making this into a series, Starry Eyed (a completed work) was only finished a few days ago so the sequel is only one chapter up so far.

I'm right in the middle of reading this particular gem...Pax Americana;
For those who like it...the Johnlock goodness is just too delicious to ignore

I loved that one. I need to slow down on the reading however, they're beginning to blur together.

I have been wanting to post my newest creation, I know you all hate WIPs, but here goes:
I don't have any excuses other than my brain won't let me sleep anymore if I don't write at least something every day, so you can be sure of at least a chapter every other day or so. (I'm my own editor and proofreader lol.)
Also, there's this:
It's not really Johnlock...well, I don't know what to call it. It just happened in my brain and my hands typed it out.

I can't believe no one has recommended our very own Schmiezi's fics.
This is her first work and not strictly Johnlock although I'd term it pre-slash. See for yourself. It's post Reichenbach and it has an interesting basic position.
This one is something special. Six chapters, each one using words collected by forum members that begin with a certain letter of the alphabet. Enjoy.

I'm nearly done reading this little emotionally complicated, dramatic, funny, very well written (I think) John and Sherlock jewel;
It's only 3 chapters, but they're VERY long. The whole thing is just over 70000 words.
Ok, off to read chapter 3!

AHA! I found it! That gif is Benedict doing a Harrison Ford impersonation. He was talking about his fan-moment faux pas when he told Ford that he used to fantasise about him hahaha.
Happens around 3:10 in this:

Hehe! When I watched that interview with him on Jimmy Fallon, I hadn't known then where the gif came from, so when that part of the interview came up I squealed at my laptop screen and said to myself "Aha! So that's where the gif came from..." and then I continued on with my endless fangirl blushes and giggles whenever I heard Benedict's voice
I have a question about a fanfic I came across, an interesting (if bizarre) Sherlock AU crossover with Pride and Prejudice....being an Austen fan, my jaw dropped when I saw someone had written a Sherlock alternative universe/crossover Pride and Prejudice thing and now I'm way too curious about it ...before I tackle it, I was just wondering if anyone here has read it and if so if it's any good or not?

I'm not a big fan of AU fics in general but I like Austen and this sounds quite tempting. I think I'll give it a try.

Okay, I haven't read any Johnlock fics yet and I want to but don't know what's out there. I'd like to read something post-TRF, where they are reunited and...their feelings for each other get the better of them, if you know what I mean
ancientsgate is right, most of the Johnlock fanfics are either pre-TRF or don't take TRF into account at all (AU or something). However, there are a few post-TRF Johnlock fanfics I really like that come to mind;
Given In Evidence by verityburns
Be Here Now by Todesfuge
Or if you're in the mood for something a little shorter, there's this;
Come to the Edge by AGirloftheSouth
There are some other FABULOUS fanfics out there that aren't post-TRF, if you want I could recommend a few if you'd like to try some out (especially if you'd like to try reading some AU), or try looking on the first page of the Johnlock Masterlist topic...lots of goodies there
In the few months I've been reading Sherlock fic Be Here Now is already a favorite.
What I like:
The plot is well thought out and held my interest. In a lot of fics what passes for a plot is just something to paste the sex scenes together.
Characters read true.
Original characters have real depth.
Love/sex scenes occur organically in the story and don't seem just tacked on.
If you enjoyed Be Here Now there is a sequel in the works called Kill Switch. I am also not one for WIPs but there are already 8 or so chapters up and I got hooked.

Thank you so much for recommending this, tonnaree, I loved "Be Here Now".

Be Here Now is one of my favourites too , and I know of Kill Switch...but I'm already reading (and waiting on) a few WIP's (The Bang and The Clatter, One Fixed Point In A Changing Age and Sun Kissed) and I don't know if I'll be able to handle waiting for another one . It'll probably be a while, but I'll wait until Kill Switch is finished before reading it (can't wait!), but I'll be sure to read Be Here Now again before doing that

Too much fic, too little time.

Too true, too true...
Speaking of which, I just finished reading this Johnlock fanfiction "Northwest Passage". It is slight AU, since John is Canadian in this one...and being Canadian myself, I was very much intrigued and started reading immediately! I quite enjoyed it, more than I thought I would, it's not a casefic, and though one of the tags for it is "PWP" it really isn't, explicit in parts yes, but it has good story and focuses mainly on the relationship between Sherlock and John, all nuances of it.

Here's another Post Reichenbach one I liked. It's ten years (!) since the fall when Sherlock returns and tries to connect to his former life. But so many things have changed. John is a widower living with his son. Lots of feelings, angst, but also hope. Well written.

Sounds interesting! I'll check it out , right now I'm in the middle of reading that Sherlock/Pride and Prejudice AU fanfiction "The Measure of a Gentleman"...I can't stop giggling, not because it is especially humorous, but because I just love Pride and Prejudice so much and seeing Sherlock blended with that is just...too, too delicious and I am enjoying it immensely , I highly recommend it!
Oh, I've also just finished reading a really good non AU, Johnlock, Post Reichenbach Fall fanfiction;

Two thumbs up for that one, it is really well done. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
