Sharpen your Mind!

I'm currently trying to train my mind to be a bit more like Sherlock...basically by doing all kinds of different puzzles - logic, lateral thinking, memory training. I've bought a couple of books on it, but you can find some on the internet too. The first two are both Sherlock related.

This is one to improve your visual memory...

This is a logic one where you have to work out cryptic clues...

Re: Sharpen your Mind!

The BBC run website 'The Science of Deduction' is also worth a look. The codes and ciphers section is good.

Don't make people into heroes John. Heroes don't exist and if they did I wouldn't be one of them.

Re: Sharpen your Mind!

Once you feel up to it Unfiction is a website where you can 'play' Alternate Reality Games (ARGs) which will puzzle you plenty. Lots to learn there too such as stenography, audio encryption and hex code.

It really is a test of fire for technology, and social, based enquiring minds. Loads of different puzzles with varying degrees of hardness.

Also, you might want to have a go at MI5's online puzzles if you fancy a job like Sherlock.
