Plonk is when you sit down, hard, all of a sudden. Or when you take an object and just put it down with a kawhump (another good word, lol). No reason why we can't plonk. We don't always have to fall sideways, or headlong down the stairs.

Coming back to edit this. I think the word is actually plunk, not plonk. *goes to look* OK, the two words can be used interchangeably-- so go, use the word plonk, and Be Correct.  *runs away laughing*
