Murders in the Rue Morgue?
Did The Time Traveller's Wife ever get guessed on the first page?

Don't make people into heroes John. Heroes don't exist and if they did I wouldn't be one of them.

Murder on the Orient Express?   I  had to join in--  saw this on my cell phone--   this is fun!!  did I guess this right?

Also--  ten folks who talk all day  MIGHT  mean   "And then there were none"   or  "Ten little indians?"

Nope. It's English, by a classic author...

Correct, Davina. And David Copperfield, too.

Re: Book Title Game (inspired by Cabin Pressure)

Okay, you guys are hilarious!  Unfortunately don't keep up with Cabin Pressure like some of you, but love all the little things I hear about, and got curious about yet another game mentioned with, and this thread growing so fast, so caught up on all the pages, chuckling the whole way and 'getting' most of them instantly before trying to 'convert' any and every title that popped into my head.  (the famous classics, especially, being good for humor as some of you have done… who wouldn't rather read Boy Meets Girl In Old Times And They Fall In Lust Then Die? ;P)

Tough current challenge though, Tantalus!  Kept trying to switch the words with synonyms (Love Takes Wing?  Love In The Company of Avians... bah), but sorry nothing jogging my mind of a 'classic' title…
