He's always scratching at himself. When he appeared on a late night talk show recently, dressed to the 9s in a 3-piece expensive looking black suit, he couldn't seem to stop scratching at his right leg. Dry skin, anyone?

It was shown on HBO here in the States, so if you have no expensive HBO subscription, you're fresh outta luck. I'm currently waiting on NetFlix for it to be released on DVD, but nothing so far.

I believe PE is a book, if you'd like to read the story.

Parade's End is monumentally good.  Beyond good.

For those who are unfamilar: Parade's End comprises four novels by Ford Maddox Ford covering this time period we constantly see portrayed in British television and cinema of the time just before, during and after WW1.  Christopher Tietjens is our main character and hero.  Ford wanted his novels published all at once under one big cover.  Which someone finally did in the 60s, I think, only including the first three books.

You can buy the DVD on Amazon right now and you can watch it on HBOgo if you subscribe to HBO.

Cumberbatch's performance is ...  stunning. It's a story of heroism and honor, a love story and war story, it's about this huge change in Bristish culture that is chronicled over and over in many different productions but told here through this amazing man's life.   It's done in five 60 minute episodes.

Parade's End is rather a famous and classic book that went out of fashion in the 70s, I read it as a teen-ager. I've probably watched it as a whole 10 times and the last two episodes, I don't know.  Way more.  Whatever we all say about how he looks, Benedict Cumberbatch is IMO the finest actor to ever take up the profession.   Bar none.

Sounds great! I would love to see it, sadly I don't have TV (bugger ) so I would have to get the DVD. Looks like a good investment though!

It's not On Demand.  It's online on HBOgo.  However, it just occurred to me, I believe someone has been posting the episodes on Youtube.  Everyone might check there.

tonnaree - If you have HBO on your cable, you also have HBOgo online.  Just go to it ( try this http://www.hbogo.com ) and when they tell you to sign in, you pick your cable provider and sign into your cable account.  It takes you back to HBOgo and you can watch Benedict in Parade's End and Stuart a Life Backwards.

OKay - last PE of the night - promise:
