"Ten Days" is very good but also very disturbing. I recommended it some time ago but with a very big warning for torture and violence.

Oh, good lord, I remember that one.

THERE'S SPOILERS AHEAD, OKAY? SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

The torture was extremely hard to read. IMO a little of that goes a long, long way, and this author slopped it on with a trowel. The torture scenes were multiple and detailed. About the time I thought we must surely have read the last one, there was another one, and on and on it went.

What kept me reading was two things--  Sherlock was looking for John, and I was intrigued to see how he would find him. As I remember, that part was a pretty satisfying read. And second, I could not WAIT until he finally did find him, so he (Sherlock) would get the priviledge of ripping off the heads of every single one of those f***ers who had done that to his John. And that, on the other hand, was a big huge fizzle. For some reason, the author all of a sudden got all wimpy, and when Sherlock finally got in the presence of the torturers, he didn't much do anything to them. ???

Weird read. One I would never go back to. But then, there are two subjects I have a really hard time with, torture and rape, and this one had both. Which leaves me sitting here wondering, why did I read that thing in the first place??  Who knows.

Yes, that's the one.

Re: Johnlock Fic Recs *warning - adult content*

I just finished reading the Sherlock fanfic "The Best Of Days"...wow, that was very and extremely interesting, I recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it. Oh, and I've also just read "A Week is Just Seven Days Isn't it?" that was so frickin' hilarious! I enjoyed it immensely

Oh, I read that one. But we got the title wrong - it's "The Best of Times", not "days.

Re: Johnlock Fic Recs *warning - adult content*

It's interesting but with a plot twist that's quite AU.

I just started the "Trying to find the in-between" series somebody recommended. Read the first chapter, quite extreme, but really well written and interesting characters. I'll report back when I've finished that one.

Ok, I've just finished reading Misdialed...*sigh*  I think all these years of watching Star Trek prepared me for the concept of time warp, alternate realities, causality loops etc (all those are just examples, not necessarily related to the fanfiction) ...otherwise I would've been slightly confused . Anyway, I loved it!  Loved it very much

It would be helpful if everyone would include a pointer to the story when posting a rec like this, just in case people would actually like to read it. I would have no idea how to find this story, if I were interested, and no one has time to scroll back through the last few weeks of the original recs, on the off chance they'd find where it's at either.  Just a suggestion, thanks.

Sherlock's version of fluff. He searches for the right words and he tries to create new words for their unique relationship.

People who come here for recs shouldn't have to search through a second thread for a pointer to a story that sparks their interest. Speaking only for myself, I appreciate anyone taking a few seconds to include a pointer in their rec. That's why I started this thread, to make it easy for people to find good stuff to read.

There are newbies on the forum all the time, people who may not even realize what the master list is, or even that it exists.
