Hi guys. Thanks for bringing this to my attention! Basically, I got the original magnifier picture from another website. The picture has now been taken down, so I'm linking it to a link that isn't there anymore, that's why the magnifiers have disappeared.

I've been testing it with numerous different magnifiers over the past half an hour, but I can't seem to get the right combination, the right size, the right look etc.

I've ended up going for a crown! So...new messages are indicated by a crown....

I'm probably not seeing them, but then, I'm not used to paying attention to those little pictures.  I forget the different ones... Sherlock for 'read' and magnifier (and just looked at the main page again... hmm... now a crown?) for new/not read?  I don't know if I'm in in the minority for doing it this way, but instead of looking for a 'new' icon for which threads to look at, I just scroll down to the bottom and click the 'show recent posts'... and just refresh that tab as often as needed (or when bored...    )

edit - oh, hey... now those little crowns are showing up all over the place!

They match our smileys. I like them.

No...the crowns, silly! I like them because they stand out more, going 'look at me I am golden'.
