a clockwork orange

moriarty crown jewels scene set to beethoven...same music...extended tounge in court room for a mint...nice homage...or am i mad?

I think, having see A Clockwork Orange recently that you could well be correct on this one. Certainly an influence if not a direct homage. Mind you Moriarty is mad and bad.

There is also a lot of Hannibal Lector inside that scene .
And "Dead Man walking"  when you see only shoes on the way to the trial.
"Minority Report" during the mind palace scene in THoB.
A lot of nods and quotes anyway.

I think Moffat and Gatiss are basically major geeks and fanboys.
