Re: Fan art

Huh...  I vaguely remember hearing of that well-known title, but had no idea what it was, or the relation!  (although reading the short imdb synopsis, huh.. neat... yes, it was making you think of the 'impossibly true' with one character being brought 'out of the words' so to speak... mm?)
I take it you are (or aren't?) familiar with the more recent movie the imagery is an outright nod towards?  Awesome movie...  Love how they twisted it with the boys, and the mere idea of them being the main characters in that story...

Re: Fan art

Someone said something similar somewhere here in the threads. I don't find it right now, but I think this one fits to that posting, so I'm putting it in here:

(I myself agree only 80% though...  )

Oh, I thought it was more about friendship. But if you wish I can move it.

Re: Fan art

Almost a little cheesy, wonderfully 'washed brush-strokes' simplicity, and, yes, I completely 'aww'ed out loud.

Eeee... it totally reminds me of another pic I had saved up to share, too!  Thanks....  love these!!

Love the style/composition of this, too....  the artist says she imagines it's how teenage Sherlock was before he learned to delete and organize his thoughts better.

He’s got a dog. We go to the pub on weekends. I’ve met his mum and dad …

… and his friends and all his family and I’ve no idea why I’m telling you this.

Someone please explain to me why that particular pose kicks all my maternal instincts in gear. I need to make sure he's fed and watered and warm and dry and clean clothes and omg.

I think I like it!

Re: Fan art

It must have been so much work, first to find all the words and quotes for the background, and then all the little details in the drawing ...

Probably because his stance is not one of openly showed strength but more introverted/retreating?  Almost even fetal.  So of course you'd want to...  heck, most of us would...  ;)   Perfect choice on the artist's part, along with the really neat style/emotion of the entire cluster (and the same sentiment also applies to the much appreciated pic Susi posted before mine, really, with it's soft strokes and similar stances)...  Just love it.

...Oi...  just looked at it again, re-reading every text... did you guys read it all?  How so much of it relates to his items, interspersed with stream-of-thought quotes and deductions and angry exclamations...  just -really- makes the piece....  o.o

Re: Fan art

I guess that's supposed to be Mycroft there on the right? Only way I can tell is because of the umbrella; otherwise, the image bears no resemblance to him. And, lololol, who would ever do images of these two wealthy, clotheshorse men wearing white socks with their black shoes and suits? OMG.

Re: Fan art

I'm glad you said that AG because I was thinking exactly the same myself. It reminds me a little of Aubrey Beardsley's work.
