Hi Everybody,
My name is Danny and I recently started following Sherlock through an english teacher of mine that showed it to me and now I absoloutely love it.
Now for her own class I am writing a research paper on the fandom surrounding Sherlock and I was hoping yall could help me out.
My paper has to do with the common grounds and experiences from anything Sherlock related that has lead to the community and fandom that we have. I'm focusing on the shared experiences of fan meet-ups right now and have read some of the reviews here and they are great, but if anyone has more personal stories relating to meet ups or anything they've done that made them feel more with the Sherlock community I would greatly appreciate your opinion.
Thanks and I'm glad to have joined.

Hi, Danny, welcome to the forum. I'm sure there are people around here that might help you.
I visited two meet-ups myself and will go to a third next weekend. For once it's great to meet people you only know from the forum and share your love for the Sherlock and everything that belongs to it on a more personal level. Here in Germany I didn't know anyone as obsessed as me. Then I came here and suddenly there were quite a lot of fans not living too far away. And then in London I met people from England, France, the US and even Australia who were mad about Sherlock. It's fascinating how a TV series can bring people together, have them laugh at the same insider's jokes and allusions and thereby create a form of community.

hello Danny! welcome *throws confetti*
being a fan and not knowing any fan from my country, so i haven't been on any meet ups of sort.so for my sanity, facebook and tumblr will suffice
it's really amazing to know that, even if you are miles away from other fans, you still feel this connection with them like you are personally talking to them.

as i just turned 18, it's legal for me to travel abroad alone (YEAAAAA) i am planning on going to London to meet other fans. that will be, obviously, a better experience

Hi Danny.
As an English teacher who always tries to get her pupils infected, too, I really like to hear that it works sometimes.
Welcome, and enjoy the forum.

Hi Danny, I live in the USA and unforyunately there aren't any Sherlock fandoms in my town. But I've been hooked on SH ever since I first read Hound of the Baskerville back in highschool, for a book report. fter I became interested in the BBC show SHERLOCK, I found this forum, and here we can all share our likes and dislikes about everything. This is why I come here; to satisfy my thirst for knowledge.

Hello Danny and welcome to our community!
I'm not too experienced with board meet-ups, but I will take part in one today.
Make yourself at home!
