I am from the east coast of the United States, Upstate NY. Not near the ocean, but a stones throw from one of the Great lakes - Ontario.
I'm about three hours from the 1000 Islands. Quite a nice area to visit in the summer months. My sister has a cottage about 20 minutes from A-Bay (Alexandria Bay) which is a big tourist area in the Islands.
Lots of water around me. I am in the finger lakes region which mean lots of wineries. We actually went on a tour of the Seneca lake wineries one Christmas. It was a good thing we had a designated driver. By the time we got 3/4 of the way through the tour we were snookered!

I am from Germany. I live in the very West, quite close to the border to Belgium and the Netherlands and only a three hour train ride to London.

Oh, Poland is great! May I ask where in Poland? A few of my classmates are in Krakau at the moment. They're doing an exchange.

My grandmother was from Poland. My mother spoke some Polish. I remember a few odd phrases -- and, of course, the swear words.

Hahah, it's the most useful thing xD People in Poland use the swear words very often. I don't like it.

Oh, good to know there are Sherlockians in Poland. I'll go to Wroclaw for three days next month. I'm looking forward to it as I've never been to Poland.

That is odd, I thought the majority of members were from the UK and surrounding countries. I thought we Yanks were the minority.
Has anyone ever done the stats on members in this respect? You know what percent are from what areas of the world?

There are means by which we could work out the membership stats but to be perfectly honest it is the active membership that matters.
