The Fifth Estate -Assange film

A new thread for the film, now it is no longer a rumour and has a title.

Don't make people into heroes John. Heroes don't exist and if they did I wouldn't be one of them.

Re: The Fifth Estate -Assange film

Ivy, you are as close as you could get to the current shootings in Berlin.
Can't you tell us anything?

John: "Have you spoken to Mycroft, Molly, uh, anyone?"
Mrs Hudson: "They don’t matter. You do."

I BELIEVE IN SERIES 5!

Re: The Fifth Estate -Assange film

I'm following two ladies on twitter.
Seems as if they've been hanging around the whole day (or still do) near the "Berliner Cathedral" where they are currently filming.
Nothing spectacular so far, but one of them wrote a short report:
They tweeted they also took some pictures but were told to delete them.

Thank you, Mattlocked. And here's the next location, Haus des Lehrers (house of the teacher):

That's near the "Alexa" (biggest shopping center in Berlin). In case he needs some new shirts or something like that.

We need our personal paparazzi!

We need someone who has nothing else to do. I have a job! I know that's very selfish, can't help it, I'm a only child.

Re: The Fifth Estate -Assange film

That's a pity. But I'm sure there'll be some pictures. Mattlocked, keep an eye on those girls, maybe they'll post more.

Re: The Fifth Estate -Assange film

Another Twitter pic. Frank Rieger is one of the speaker's of Chaos Computer Club and technical director of a communications security company. He seems to discuss the film quite extensively on Twitter. There seem to be reservations towards the film, someone calling it already an Anti-Wikileaks propaganda film.

Re: The Fifth Estate -Assange film

Here's video of Assange's Oxford Union speech. From 11:18 he discusses the film and scenes from the script (the first one having allegedly cut by now) and attacks the makers of the film as corrupt media concerns. I don't know by far enough about this subject to give an opinion. Maybe some of you are better informed than I am:

Re: The Fifth Estate -Assange film

I don't really know much about the film or what approach it is going to take in telling the story. If it's soley based on Domscheit-Berg's book or not, I have no idea. This is a polarizing subject as is the man behind it, so hopefully the people making the film will take as unbiased and accurate a stand as any Hollywood film can in telling this tale. I'm tempted to read the book now, even though it's gotten very poor reviews.

Re: The Fifth Estate -Assange film

They're filming now in Belgium for 38 days! So Belgian Cumberfans should be on the lookout. Actually, I'm nearer to Belgium than to Berlin.

A great report by a fan who managed to get a job as an extra during filming in Berlin:
