Apparently (according to tumblr) the girls who saw him and took photos of him were asked (by him) not to post any photos of him in character and amazingly, they seem to have complied which is a Good Thing.

The whole island is sitting on a big geo-thermal area-- it's how they heat their homes, etc. Maybe that has something to do with the lack of snow? Don't know. But I do know that in arctic-antarctic areas, it rarely snows because it's too cold and the air is too dry.
And to bring this back on topic, maybe someone will spot Ben in one of those outdoor hot spa pool areas they have. Iceland has always sounded like a fascinating place to me, even though I am no fan of the cold and dark. But to spot Ben there, that'd make everything juuuuust right!
