That's true. We don't use it so often but prefer the equivalent of "like" for things like food, weather, etc. And we also have a distinction between "lieben" and "lieb haben". E.g. children would prefer the second expression.
In German we say "Mensch" (man in the sense of human being) and "Mann" (man meaning the gender). In English and French (homme) it's the same word. So in this case you could say German's a bit more emancipated.

maybe the costume staff just didn´t want miss a look on the batch-hands..? but on the other side - tight leather gloves....oh, remember of the kids here, me.

Maybe it isn't THAT cold. He may wear the white coat over his Belstaff just in case he's becoming cold because of waiting and standing around and waiting ...
