What a powerful throw!

Re: Cabin pressure

This new episode is great. Are there little nods to Sherlock Holmes hidden in there? The bees? The ring in the goose? Martin is, indeed the Master!

The notes on Timbuktu are great. I wonder why he decided to change it from Portugal to Sardinia? Maybe the Italian accents are easier- although they were pretty dodgey.

Pineapple juice anyone?

Re: Cabin pressure

Yes, the bees reminded me of Sherlock, too. And I thought of Benedict as Christopher Tietjens wearing the signet ring that belongs to him personally. Don't know if he got it from his Dad, though, who's still alive.

What a nosey little metal detector. Suppose the name's Sherlock.

Re: Cabin pressure

Oh, what a prophetic pic! But it looks much nicer and handier than Finn MacCool.

I wonder what Andrew would make of the Irish accents?

As they were supposed to be comic, I'd hope he'd laugh!
Yay and thank goodness somebody else made the sheep connection.  I did and wondered if John had been inspired by the famous pix!

Re: Cabin pressure

Martin's/Benedict's attempt at the Irish accent was hysterical wasn't it. It sort of mutated into West Country.

Re: Cabin pressure

Oh god this episode... Shame you can't hug radio waves (or radios... doing either makes you look a bit subnormal.)

The part with the bees, Martin's terrified whispering. Everyone got a whole range of really good lines and equal airtime. If I had any criticism it would be this: it all ended rather too soon! It posed more questions than answers: Trust me... you didn't have to sit next someone asking questions about Martin's ring. (To which I nearly asked 'Which Martin are you talking about?' but I think a LoTR reference would have been totally lost on them.)

The character development in this episode was just... wonderfully handled. Can't wait for next week!

Re: Cabin pressure

I'm just really afraid JF is preparing to let Martin go. I didn't much like the sound of Carolyn being unpleasantly surprised by Martin loyalty. I'm going to listen the episode again now.

I know how you feel...Is *this* related to the the 'cliffhanger' that everyone keeps mentioning, do you think?

Re: Cabin pressure

Yes probably and most of all to what JF said in this interview. I'm going to be gutted if they change any of the crew, not just Martin.
