Something funny

From crazyandsexy.tumblr.com:

Polish journalist from the “Film  magazine knows the whole truth about Benedict!

“Playing the title role (Anna Karenina) was offered, amongst others, to Cate Blanchett, Andrea Risenborough and Benedict Cumberbatch. All three women declined. Finally Keira Knightley accepted the role because she was impressed by the script and costumes

"To fake the death of one sibling may be regarded as a misfortune; to fake the death of both looks like carelessness." Oscar Wilde about Mycroft Holmes

"It is what it is says love." (Erich Fried)

“Enjoy the journey of life and not just the endgame. I’m also a great believer in treating others as you would like to be treated.” (Benedict Cumberbatch)

Re: Something funny

Okay, I giggled far more than I should have at that...
And it's tricky to know where to stick miscellaneous little clippings.... general news?  Ben's news?  But something I wanted to show you guys kind of fits perfectly along the same feel as the above:  appreciation that people are noticing, but at the same time... wait... what?  So hopefully don't mind me just combining it in this thread.  In the year-end copy of Entertainment Weekly, they always do a big spread on the best and worst of the whole year.  Actors, headlines, movies, music, books, things that got our attention......  and a few pages were dedication to 'best episodes'.  Sherlock unfortunately didn't make the cut in the 'best shows' section, but hey, they're still noticing!

Anybody else do a double-take?  ;)  (at a couple phrases, that is)

Oh... and elsewhere in the mag.... on various pages of 'things we loved this year', there would be random little "This Was The Year That _____" blips at the bottoms of the pages, including this one:

Uh huh.  Uh huh uh huh.

We solve crimes, I blog about it, and he forgets his pants.  I wouldn't hold out too much hope!

Just this morning you were all tiny and small and made of clay!

I'm working my way up the greasy pole.  It's… very greasy.  And…  pole-shaped.

What a perfect blooper!

Well, it tells us that Benedict was not so impressed by the script and costumes, perhaps he's been spoilt by BBC's offerings

Eventually everyone will support Johnlock.   Independent OSAJ Affiliate

... but there may be some new players now. It’s okay. The East Wind takes us all in the end.

Rightly so, as the BBC does it best. Also goes to show that it wasn't a good prospect to make, because Benedict knows from good costume dramas and that should have given the makers of film a clue.

Re: Something funny

Speaking of costume dramas, whatever happened to Parade's End showing up on HBO in America?  I thought it was supposed to come on in December?  I bought the HBO package so I could watch it.  Did I miss it?

Re: Something funny

No, you didn't miss Parade's End on HBO KP. I've had my eye out for it as well. I saw a clip for the new year's movies, shows and other upcoming type things and it was part of that, so I'm assuming it will air sometime in 2013, but I haven't been able to get a date for it yet. Guess we'll both just have to wait for that awhile longer too. It seems like we're just perpetually waiting for Benedict's work.
