Your husband will be thrilled to meet him.

HERE! I take him! Our roof is quite uncomfortable - so he may be allowed to come in later.
Through the chimney then?

Early Christmas present. Hohoho!

Well, he looks a lot like Knecht Ruprecht.

Through the chimney he will end up in the basement. No nice place, either. But husband-free. LOL
Knecht Ruprecht, I've been naughty. Did you bring your riding crop?

@Susi - I love the muppet shirt!
Diff'rent strokes. I was thinking thank god he seems to be working with a stylist now and no longer goes out in public dressed like this.
But it's cute. He can't always be dressed to the nines.
True, but I'm with AG on this one and not really feeling the muppet shirt. I mean, he was young, so I guess it was okay. I mean, we all have to have those wacky photos we can look back on and wonder what we were thinking with our wardrobe choices.

But.... the muppets are cult! In my opinion one can't be too old to wear certain things.
I have a tee with a weird rabbit and I'm sure some people look at me like.... ??? But I love my rabbit tee!
And I also love my flame red bobble cap.
No - always dressed up with no "mistake" = I wouldn't like him as much as I do now.
I would call this way of dressing "personally, individual, human".

THIS is the appropriate sliding-through-the-chimney outfit:

Wait - I can hear it rumble already.... No, wrong sound. Our Knecht Ruprecht would sound like "ssssssssid"

I have no idea who KR is, but anyway, I always think Batman when I see that rooftop thing.

Knecht Ruprecht is the companion of St. Nikolaus (Santa Claus) in Germany. He is dressed in black and carries the presents, but also a switch.
While Knecht Ruprecht stands in the background looking grumpy, Santa Claus goes to the children and looks into his book. If he sees you have been a nice child, you get fruit and sweets. If not, you get the switch. (But of course that never happens, there are never any bad things about the children in the book. )

You'd wear a muppet shirt and a red bobble hat to work? I mean, if you had a corporate, well-paying job? When BC goes out in public, even to dinner with friends, he's at work, whether he likes it or not. He's quite famous now, and there are camera phones and paparazzi everywhere. Anyone can wear anything they like to bed or in the privacy of their own homes, but when a well-known actor ventures out, especially to planned appearances, he's gone to work and should look appropriate to his age and status. Not necessary to "dress up" in a tux for Starbucks run, but dressing as though one is in still in uni or making $10,000 a year, when neither of those things is true anymore, would not be in his best interest, IMO.
Heh... I'm originally from Austin (Texas, US). The muppet shirt would go over well there on someone of any income or status. There is a not-insignificant segment of the population that dresses like starving college students (and not the hipster ones), but who retired early on the millions they made in the tech industry.
My point is not to say Cumberbatch should ignore the standards of dress for where he is, but rather than standards of what's acceptable at a given age, income level, etc. vary in different areas. We'll have different expectations, based on the standards we're used to, and he should fit different standards depending on where he is and what he's doing.

OMG, I honestly just thought the tee funny because it had Sherlock Hemlock on it. Just let me add some points:
The pic isn't exactly new as you can see from his hair.
We don't know on which occasion it was taken - surely no Red Carpet thing.
We know he can dress very smartly which he usually does when appropriate. But he's still got a private life as well (at least I hope so).
That said I wish you all a good morning and good evening.

Today i bought some wool yarn. It's quite difficult for me to find it here in Austria, so i went online and I ordered it from the UK.
I chose the site based on the funny name... "Cucumberpatch".
Now back to serious matters..
