Eeee.... guys, these are great so far... ha..
I know we got "Jingle Bells" going on too, and like to think of another one for that, but really enjoying the "Silent Night" and came up with another to share:

Silent night, hateful night
All is calm, Sherlock's right
Boredom leads to being annoyed
Cheer him up before he destroys--
Mrs. Hudson's waa--all!! Mrs. Hudson's wall.

Hunting hounds by flashlight
See the rabbit glowing bright
Giant canine gives Watson a fright

(a couple previous verses switched around for better order with each other)
(for those unfamiliar, I'm referencing The Geek Interpreter case John wrote about in his blog (still think it's so awesome they made an actual real tie-in blog with the show!), plus the well-known infamous article/photo about the boys in the same ep, with the 'annoying nicknames' ;) )

I'm doing this a verse at a time because I just did loads and then they got obliterated!

Awww!! I'm certainly not done! Scribbled a few different lines... just coming up with a finished verse here and there when wanted to post, and was waiting to see if anyone else joined in some more before kept spamming.... wasn't sure if the Jingle Bell one was gonna keep going, too... mm... not sure how much interest or ideas there were still to be had, but love to hear from, and will work on adding to the above in a bit!

Ha! Great!! Well, 'Silent Night' is just so easy to write the rhythm for and kept thinking of verses for that, but love the others started, and wanted to try to continue 'Jingle Bells', so.......
...but then unfortunately I started humming other tunes to see what came to, aannd.... got a little distracted with a few good lines that came up, and instead started my own version to the tune of "What Child Is This"... ;P ;P ;) (aka for some as 'Greensleeves')

What crime is this, to lay to rest,
on Sherlock's desk for reading?
A murder foul? The file doth say-
an expert, please, we are needing.

(huh.... must be it's simplicity or something that makes SiP so easy to have been referenced in several songs so far.... ; ) and alas... unfortunately I really should have been in bed an hour ago to finish it right now.... if anyone else is so inspired to, feel free! hope you enjoy!! : ))

the title of this thread should be christmas sherlock songs. I think I have one. I did this over on a nother fan board-- it was so easy and funny. All the ones I've read yhere are quite lovely. sung to the tune of god rest ye merry gentlemen

In London our good police force,
Lets no case go unsolved,
because they bring in Sherlock Holmes
so he can get involved,
He only takes one look at it,
and then it is resolved,

If one of the mods wants to change the title it's fine with me. It's just called "Twelve days of Sherlock" because I hadn't thought about what would happen after we'd finished the first song.
EDIT: Never mind, I've got it now. I didn't realize I could change it myself... thanks Harriet!

You're all gonna hate me for this one. Not exactly a carol, but based on Rosie O'Donnel's song "Santa on the Rooftop." If someone wants to finish this they can, I'm outta ideas.

I was coming back from 221B
In a taxi when my roommate called me
Voice was scared but instructions were clear
I obeyed his words with mounting fear

And when he told me to raise my eyes
I saw a figure black against the skies
You can't imagine my surprise
When I looked up and realized

It was Sherlock on the rooftop

I'd like to start up the Twelve Days of Sherlock again, but with new rules this time if no one minds, to make it more challenging for all the fine, intellectual Sherlockians around here. I hope no one minds.

You must follow the same pattern as always, from one to twelve, but this time, you can only list something beside a number if it has appeared that many times or that number of it exists in Sherlock. For example:

On the fourth day of Christmas, Sherlock gave to me

Four Russian Gunmen

There were four Russian assassins (I think) in The Reichenbach Fall, so that would fit. Let me start it off:

On the first day of Christmas, Sherlock gave to me

A cup with drugged sugar and tea

Sounds great, Jayie! I know one for verse three, but I'll wait for someone to do verse two.
In the meantime, here's a verse of "Sherlock the Genius" (to the tune of "Frosty the Snowman"):
Sherlock the genius
Thought his life was pretty dull
With his sock index and his cluedo board
And his grinning friend the skull
Sherlock the genius
Was a psychopath they say
But he's not alone and his blogger knows
How he solved the case that day
There must have been a number in that pink suitcase they found
For when he typed it in the phone it began to ring out loud!

Most clever Idea. I believe I have number two---

On the first day of Christmas, Sherlock gave to me

A cup with drugged sugar and tea

ON the second day of Christmas, Sherlock gave to me,

Two painted Ciphers (BB, in Sir William's office)

For future verses that we are doing, I suggest copying/pasting, and BOLDING them so that we don't get confused.

Just wanted to say cute idea! And of course I'd love to continue the songs! The 'Jingle Bells' one that got started, and 'What Child Is This' I think would be kinda awesome to see continued... meant to when I had a moment of creativity... thought perhaps people just got stuck or moved on from it? But look forward to this one for the moment.... I'd love to add to it, too, but all I can think of for '5' is... "5 letters for UMQRA!" But thought to myself it sounded kinda cheesy.... ;P

There was the first lady in her car, the guy standing out on the street (who apparently was standing there for several hours without anyone noticing anything strange), the blind lady who tried to describe Moriarty's voice, the kid, and then John at the pool.
