This in an exchange I had in my school library.
Me: Hi, can I check [The Last Sherlock Holmes Story] out?
Counter Girl: Oh, yeah.
Me: Thanks.
Counter Girl: (scanning the book)...do you read Sherlock Holmes?
Me: Yeah.
Counter Girl: (putting the stamp on) Have you seen the series? On PBS? It's good.
Me: Yeah. Yeah, it's really good.

It was that, or risking being taken in by the police after doing something incredible stupid. Like, saying what she really would have preferred to say!

Just talked on the phone with my editor and she likes Sherlock! Yes! Finally I found someone outside my family and this forum who loves the show and even watched it in English. I mean, she doesn't seem to be as crazy about Benedict as I am but nevertheless … I've always liked her and now I like her even more.

And now you'll leave us for your editor.....

Never! With whom should I fangirl (is that a verb )? And discuss voice porn?

We wouldn't let you go, anyway, Susi.
Anyway, I was thinking that as much fun as it is to have people recognize my I AM SHERLOCKED t-shirt, I think it would be really fun if I saw one randomly on someone else.
I wore one to the fitness center the other day, and possibly got a smile and nod, but I'm not sure. There wasn't really an opportunity to follow up.

I was a tad cross recently.
I was in Edinburgh for the day and nearly wore my : I am Sherlocked tshirt.
Last minute, I wore my War Horse one instead.
Next day one of the Edin members said they'e been walking through Princes Gardens at a time I knew I would have been there.
If I'd worn the Sherlocked t, they would have spotted me!

What I would have preferred to say:
"Can I please take you home with me right now so that we can watch nine straight hours of Sherlock and talk about it afterwards? I'll make popcorn."

ah, you can even put it into socially accepted words - your patience when dealing with stupidity is admirable!

OMG, as they say! I am so excited. Look what I saw posted on campus today! I all but did a little dance right there in the open.
In case you can't read the little tabs, they say" #believeinsherlock."
And here was another one on the same kiosk.
I'm gonna post these somewhere else, too. Mods, what's a good thread to put these in?
Now I have to find the person(s) responsible so we can have a meetup. Time to engage the science of deduction.

Oh, lucky you! I cant imagine finding something similar around here - unless I put it there myself, of course...

Thanks. It's so cool, isn't it? Anyway, I hope you put something out there and then maybe you can make someone as happy as I am today!

What a wonderful discovery. I hope you get to meet the person.

Yes, just leave a message on the poster and ask for a meet-up. The person who put it there will definitely come back and look how many of the little tabs were taken. And then you two will live happily ever after...

Yes, I plan to have my Sherlock Post-It notes ready tomorrow.
Offline
I started keeping sticky notes in my bag with pre-written "I believe in Sherlock Holmes" on them.
Offline
Maybe that belongs in the you know you are obsessed... thread.

@horserider: Just stick your notes to any Sherlock related items in public, take a photo and post it in the "My today's tiny contribution..." thread.

I think I nearly met a Sherlockian. It was on a packed train I've been on an hour ago. I was standing in the middle of a crowd reading on my KIndle when suddenly I noticed a tall man about five metres away standing on the steps to the second storey of the train. He was wearing a deerstalker, a black woolen coat and a black scarf and he was reading an Agatha Christie novel. When he got out he put his black leather gloves on and his coat collar up (so he looked cool ). Unfortunately, he didn't see me. But apart from my blue scarf and my Baker Street pin on my coat collar he wouldn't have been able to deduce anything Sherlockian from me. A Kindle with fan fiction ist not that obvious!
