Re: Favourite moments

Do you really invite people only to make them watch this scene?

Eventually everyone will support Johnlock.   Independent OSAJ Affiliate

... but there may be some new players now. It’s okay. The East Wind takes us all in the end.

Re: Favourite moments

Anybody in my house gets the: have you seen Sherlock?
If they haven't, they are subjected to it, whether they want to see it or not!
It would probably be Reichenbach I would show,as it's my fave episode.

Re: Favourite moments

Right, start with something simple and easy to digest!

Obviously, I lack a little authority among my friends - not all of them will listen to me

Re: Favourite moments

Oh don't misunderstand me.
I do have work colleagues who have tried watching Sherlock and apparently: just don't get it.
But then, I agree with what Steven says about people who don't understand it...

Re: Favourite moments

Same with my colleague. I thought he might love it but he only watched E1 and then gave the dvd back. Said he doesn't have time. I say: not interested.

Re: Favourite moments

You allow your DVDs out of your sight?!
I have only ONCE let anybody borrow my DVDs and I was in a cold sweat, the entire 48 hours they were out of the house!

Re: Favourite moments

Oh my. Prepare for a bit of a long post. :'D

First of all, this video here
which includes most of the insults he uses throughout the entire show. My favorites that are used in the video in particular are the insults he has towards Anderson, especially the "You lower the IQ of the whole street." Also John's face in the Hounds of Baskerville when Sherlock says, "I knew it worked on a superior mind, so I needed to try it on an average one."

Aside from that video, some of my favorite scenes include; -Spoilers if you're not done with the series so far-
- When Lestrade and the others are in Sherlock's flat in the first episode of season 1 doing the drug bust and they are discussing the meaning of "Rachel" and (I believe) Lestrade says it was her baby that died 14 years ago and Sherlock says something to the matter of, "That was ages ago, why would she still care?" and everyone kind of makes a look at him and it's that moment, that face, when Sherlock realizes that he's said something wrong and looks to John and says, "Not good?" and John replies with, "Yeah, not good."
- The cafe scene in the first episode when John /totally asks Sherlock out, but because Sherlock loves his work too much, he declines the offer/ is talking to Sherlock about his love life, haha.
- The scene in the second episode of S1 when Sherlock and John are at the bank and Sebastian is talking about how they went to university together and he calls him a freak. I just like Sherlock's reaction. I don't know why, but it just seemed to humanize him a bit more - like he cared for a second what someone said about him.
- The last episode when Moriaty is saying to John that Sherlock payed him to act "the part" because he was bored. I was questioning my sanity during this scene, haha.

Re: Favourite moments

I think one of my fave aspects of all, is John never losing faith in Sherlock...which is a stance I hope he maintains at The Reunion!

Re: Favourite moments

Agree, I came more and more to enjoy seeing how attentive John guides Sherlock through social life.
When they are with others, he is so caring.
While when they are alone, he learns to speak out - both aspects express his faith

Re: Favourite moments

Yeah, I love scenes where John is Sherlock's moral compass. Of topic...Because of their strong bond, I can't wait to see the look on John's face when he see's Sherlock for the first time after thinking he was dead. I can't decide if he'll start crying (most likely not) or if he'll punch him (more likely).

Anderson: "Really?"
SH: "Yes. Brilliant impression of an idiot."

Punch, then hug or hug, then punch?

Re: Favourite moments

No punches, please.
I am on record as saying : if we don't at least get a hug out of The Reunion...well, I dunno what I'll do!

Re: Favourite moments

My season 2 DVD finally arrived and just started watching Belgravia (only my second time) and I just LOVE Andrew Scott's acting when he says the line that goes something like "I will rip the HEART out of you". The passion he says it with and the look on his face right after he's said the line. Wow.

Re: Favourite moments

Ah, true. But the episode started with the "previously" segment of the 1st episode of season 2 and I just started watching it so I mentioned it with that episode. At least I got a word or two correct quoting the line and I just saw it 15 minutes ago. No wonder I can't even remember lyrics to my own songs.

DG, I'm envioius of your just watching for the second time. It is so cool to be noticing all the things you didn't notice before and understanding them in the larger context. I'm looking forward to your comments about the different episodes.
