Re: Chit-chat

Thanks you, SusieQ. It's good to be back. I've missed my girls. My plan was to come back when the new season starts but a certain someone seeked me out so here I am.

Re: Chit-chat

Nah, Dramagod, stay here and wait for the new season together with us ;)
We have to stick together in those difficult times!

Things that are happening at the moment:
I actually made two guys from my school watch Sherlock! And they love it.
("Made" as in: I recommended it and the watched it (I didn't tie them to a chair and put a TV in front of them or something))
Things that are also happening: People who are not me giving other people Sherlock on DVD as a gift for birthday.
Yay! I'm slowly but consistently sherlocking my whole city until there's no one left to be sherlocked... and when season 3 finally airs on TV, there won't be single person on street because everyone will be watching!

Re: Chit-chat

Well done! Esp. the thing with "tying them on a chair and.... " ah, no, sorry, you didn't do that.
Anyway, a good thing to spend the next 12 months (!!!  ) with. Making everyone watch season 3.
The birthday thing I will keep in mind.... hm......

Re: Chit-chat

Morning all! Or evening, or afternoon, depending where you are. How is everyone today? All that talk of dentists and my dodgy wisdom tooth has decided to play up again. I really hope it won't mean a visit to my dentist! Mouthwash and Bonjela will be my first emergency treatments. Wish me luck!

Re: Chit-chat

I'm well but lazy, dawdling here in the forum when I should be working. Hope your tooth stops troubling you.

Don't mess around with that, Davina. "Dodgy" wisdom teeth can cause a lot of damage around the bone supporting the tooth, and you might be risking way more pain and complications down the road by not just biting the bullet and having the darned thing taken out of there. Ouch. Messy things, aren't they.

Re: Chit-chat

It's a pain because it is only partially erupted and every year or so it gets inflamed and painful. Usually if it doesn't clear up in a couple of days I go to the dentist and they give me some anti-biotics. If it keeps flaring up then they will send me to to hospital to have it out. Trouble is I am bad with general anaesthetic and I'll probably have to wait a year to get it done if I wait for the National Health.

Anyhow...I am shortly to do battle with our rubbish broadband connection and will try and watch the last part of Parade's End on I-player. I may be some time!

Re: Chit-chat

AG has some point here. Of course it's best not to postpone such things.
But this you will know yourself already.
To have to wait for a year - what an annoying outlook for you

So have it done with novocaine. It's already half in your mouth-- all they'll do is trim the gum away, and then it's just a regular extraction. Should be able to do this right in an oral surgeon's office, with novocaine and maybe a whiff or two or three of nitrous oxide. No need for the hospital, unless there's something more going on than what you've told us. (I was a dental hygienist for 25+ years-- sorry, I might be retired but I'm still handing out dental advice! Back to our regularly scheduled programming....)

Extremely rare, to be genetically missing all four, but it happens. You've had x-rays and been shown that you don't have them? They could just be well and truly impacted in there and have never reared their ugly heads. This happens too.

Re: Chit-chat

Our dentists won't use gas in surgery any more. I did have teeth out years ago prior to a brace being fitted under gas. Weird dreams. The best bit was having a knickerbocker glory at the Wimpy afterwards!

Re: Chit-chat

Haven't chatted in this thread yet

Oooooh wisdom teeth. I had a horrible experience. After getting all four out, they gave me Novocaine for the pain killer. Turns out I'm ALLERGIC to Novocaine and kept throwing up and I couldn't eat or drink anything. Plus pain. Gah.

And I had braces for 7 years from age 7 - 13. My mouth/teeth were really messed up. Grrrr. But it's all over now, haha.

What's everyone up to today? I've just got work and a night class. Two of my classes cause so much anxiety, one of them being tonight - boo!

Re: Chit-chat

Nasty reaction to Novacaine sounds bad I cannot do codeine makes me feel so sick! What a long time to have braces! I had them for two years and my daughter had them for two and a half but only from the age of about 14/15. Why do two of your classes cause you anxiety? Is it the subject matter? I'm just chilling out after a day of pretty foul weather, looking after horses and walking dogs, housework etc.

Aw, I'd much rather be looking after animals.

I'm studying counseling (therapy) and one class is Child and Adolescents. Tonight we have to "bring out our inner child" and play with toys! I'm just anxious cause I don't know what it will be like. Maybe it will be fun. The other class - we have to start learning how to counsel so the class sits in a big circle and two people sit in the middle - one being the "client" and one being the "counselor" and you have to counsel them with everyone watching and you don't know what you're doing! I haven't done it yet but I bet my time will come Wednesday...
