The Dancing Men Code -inspiration

The diary that is believed to have been the inspiration behind Arthur Conan Doyle's dancing men code is on display at Toronto Public Library, Canada. Here is an interesting little article, with photos, about the diary. You can see the stick men etc.

Hmm, in the of short stories inspired by SH that I'm reading, one of them has a main character named Cubit? Coincidence?
