Just back from London, and I can happily report this was one of the best run of shows I’ve seen. Benedict took part in all three nights. My favourite show was probably Friday night, with Olivia Colman (she got standing ovations when she entered the stage), and Benedict and Louise treating us to a beautiful performance of “My Dear Bessie.”
I was there as well with my son and we enjoyed the show very much. Great cast and a very deserving cause. I would have loved to see the teenage girl from Fridays for Future on Saturday as well. I am very proud that they chose to give this urgent cause a platform and from the pics I saw Benedict was lovely with them. I would definitely love to come again.
Sounds wonderful! So happy for both of you!

There will be two more Letters Live events in London this year. On 3rd October 2019 LL will take place at the Royal Albert Hall, tickets for this event have already gone on sale a while ago.
More recently they announced another event that will take place on 14th September 2019 as part of “Africa Utopia” at the Southbank Centre. Tickets for that date are currently only on sale for members, general sale starts tomorrow (22nd May).

Great show last night at the Royal Albert Hall. You know the line-up is going to be fantastic when the first reader is Stephen Fry...
Other highlights for me were Olivia Colman, Jude Law, Louise Brealey and of course Benedict who did a wonderful rendition of "Dear Bessie" with Louise.
Oh, and MP Rory Stewart took the stage and said the following letter constitutes his resignation from the Conservative Party. The letter was Boris Johnson's shool report from Eton, written by Martin Hammond to Boris' father Stanley Johnson.
The show was at least partly filmed so I hope that some official videos will be available soon.

So glad you enjoyed it.
My best Sherlockian pal was there and she loved it, too.
She and I have a shared loved of Rory Stewart.
I spotted this gem years ago and am so glad he is now reaching a wider audience.
I adore Stephen Fry. But my pal hates hm and so failed to mention he was there!
She used to be a Benedict fanatic, now takes every opportunity have a dig at him...
we share a devotion for Andrew.

Nice find. I haven't read them all at this point, but so far the exchange about Mott the Hoople amused me. It's unfortunate about the damage to the theatre, but I'm not that surprised. I've been at theatres to see musicals where the audience got up and danced on the balcony during the encore and you could feel the balcony bouncing up and down a little!
Enjoyed reading the letters about The Beatles, too. I had to look up the lyrics to "A Day in the Life" because I didn't recall the lyrics they were referring to in the letter. Very funny!

My mum came across this video earlier this week and we watched it together and laughed a lot. I hadn't realized there were videos of so many of the letters from the Letters Live shows. This one was also interesting to us because it's related to the Ambassor Hotel in Victoria, BC, in Canada. Benedict's Canadian accent is pretty good.
