Re: Patrick Melrose

The show has won five Emmy nominations: best actor, best limited series, best director, best writer, best cast. Congrats and keeping fingers crossed for September.

How could they not!?!?!
I would have broken things if they at least had not nominated Benedict and the show itself.
It is a work of art.

Re: Patrick Melrose

That's good news for Benedict and the rest of the cast and crew! I wonder how many of those they will win.

Sadly Patrick Melrose didn’t win in any category.

Re: Patrick Melrose

Well, this is not news where Benedict is concerned.
And I am sad not just for him but also for the whole cast and especially David Nicholls who turned these novels into scripts. Which is quite a miracle.

Re: Patrick Melrose

I was kind of sad for Benedict and the rest of those involved that they didn't win anything. I thought Benedict had a good chance, considering all the different kinds of emotions he had to go through in the series and all the times in the show where he chews up the scenery. It seems he gets nominated for things a lot but hardly ever wins.

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

Re: Patrick Melrose

YES!!!  It would have been an absolute CRIME if he had not won for Patrick Melrose.  The entire mini series was a masterpiece.  Also very pleased the mini series itself won too.

Wonderful news! BAFTA was more than well-deserved this time around!
