How do you post actual pictures, not just links to them?

You can also resize images, if they are too large for the forum.
Go into the first "img" tag and put in the new width and height (in pixels)
img=(width)x(height)
For example:
[ img=640x480] [ /img ]
(without the spaces)
640 is the ideal width for message boards. You then have to work out the correct height using the same ratio, otherwise your image will be distorted. There's a way to calculate this that involves maths
I usually just save the picture to my computer or iPad, open it in an editing app, then go to resize the image. When I type 640 (pixels) for the width, the app gives me the corresponding height.
Hope this helps people

Thanks, ukaunz! Rule of Three should be sufficient ...

It's just calculation, no maths involved

Hi, I was wanting to get a picture in my signature but I can't get it to show up. It has the image tags but for some reason it will just show the link in between the tags without showing the picture itself.
Any ideas as to how to get it to work? Thanks

You have to make sure that the URL is to the image itself and not just the page the picture appears on. The URL should end with .png or .jpg or whatever extensions corresponds to the type of image it is. And makes sure the tags are BBCode tags, so they have square brackets [img][/img]

What if you want to post a picture from Pinterest? Is there any way to do that?

I think Pinterest pictures are difficult or impossible to post anywhere else. I have tried to copy them more than once but it never worked. You will probably have to find another source for the pic and then post it here.

I wouldn't know how to go about finding them anywhere else, I regret to say.

You have a couple ways to do it. If you found the image in a Google search result and it's a picture from Pinterest, while still in the Google search result for the picture, you click "Search by image." The page it takes you to will show you a thumbnail of the picture and you can select whether you want to see results for the image medium, large, or all sizes. You click on whichever one you want. You will then get a page of search results for just that image, from various sites to choose from.
If you're already on pinterest, you can right-click the image and select "copy image address" or save the image. From there, you go to Google Images. In the search bar, you click on the little camera icon. If you copied the image address, you select "Paste image URL" and right click + paste the image address and then search. If you saved the picture, select "Upload an image."
Whichever one of those options you choose, you should be able to get a list of results for that picture, from a variety of sites, like you did for the other method.
I hope this is helpful.
