Not the HD version but still a first impression:

Firstly: anybody else spot the Sherlock wallpaper?!
Secondly: I ate a large helping of humble pie yesterday...do I have to finish the whole damn pie today?
Er, I thought Benedict was playing Tesla.

I know every invention has sceptics in the beginning, but it seems almost funny that some people were sceptical of electricity.
I noticed the wallpaper, too!

Did anybody else have an ' Assange' feeling about the film?
It seems to be made in the same, sharp, snappy. modern way as that other film...
My daughter laughed when I described it as ' a young person's film'.
Sounds like another snappy soundtrack, too.

Not sure if this was the real soundtrack. It was composed by Dusty O'Halloran and Hauschka, two avantgarde musicians. Hauschka is a German pianist and composer playing on so-called prepared pianos. His music is always piano-dominated. Maybe this was just the main theme. I am looking forward very much to the soundtrack, they have done other films as well.

it looks good though! But I look forward to seeing it in a better version

It's hard to tell what a film's music will be like just from the trailer. Sometimes the music in the trailer isn't even in the film.

New here is the high-quality version of the trailer:

Sadly, it seems as if Benedict's work might become hurt by the Harvey Weinstein scandal. There are rumours about the film's release being delayed. This is a shame but I am very glad he was so open about the allegation against Weinstein and immediately offered support to the women concerned.

I'm afraid you're right Susi. According to this article the film has been dropped from the release schedule.

This makes me very sad. HW is a pig of a person but that does not negate the hard work and passion everyone else put into the film.

The latest I saw, was that it is to be released next year.

Good news.

I will try and post the link...

Thank you, so I hope we will see it next year after the Weinstein issue has been dealt with (and others hopefully as well).

Was a little sad yesterday when the Oscar nominations came out.
Before it got held back I had a lot of hope that The Current War would be amongst them.

Me, too.

I still hope they will find another distributor. It would be sad to see all this creative work go to waste.

So say all of us...

I highly doubt that this is film will be forever unseen. It will just take time.
