Thankfully the bugs in the UK aren't very sizeable!

I've been vegan(ish) in the past and didn't find it particularly difficult.  I do imagine it might be a bit more difficult to bulk up for film roles, but then there are vegan bodybuilders, so it's not impossible.

Yuck!  Bugs?!  Who wants to eat bugs?!  [makes face]  No way, give me a hamburger or a piece of fried fish or chicken any day!

Re: Favourite Sherlock/Benedict pictures

My comment about bugs in the UK being small was only half-joking ... I think they're not a traditional food here because of the effort of catching them isn't worth it for the calories involved.  (We do keep bees, though!).  In countries with bigger and more plentiful bugs (locusts, etc.), it probably makes more sense for them to become part of their cuisine.  Of course in modern times there's the option of farming/mass production, I suppose.

Of course I've eaten snails in France, and I agree that shrimps aren't that far off being bugs!  I'm probably getting too old to get used to eating bugs now, but I'm sure if I'd started younger I could get to like them.

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?
