I am really delighted about that news. I was a bit angry with myself. Travelled to London two times in May and June and wasn't able to watch that play. Bad planning.

I cannot live without brainwork. What else is there to live for? Stand at the window there. Was there ever such a dreary, dismal, unprofitable world? See how the yellow fog swirls down the street and drifts across the dun-coloured houses. What could be more hopelessly prosaic and material? What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

Cool! Four hours will be a long haul, though.

You gotta be kidding.
Speaking as one who saw it live...I was mesmerised from start to finish.
I never moved from my seat.

Re: Andrew Scott as Hamlet @Almeida Theatre in Spring 2017

Oh, I'm not saying it's a bad thing or that it wouldn't be engrossing. But you don't get an intermission on TV like you do in the theatre.

Re: Andrew Scott as Hamlet @Almeida Theatre in Spring 2017

Yes I suppose a watch on catch up, or recording it may be the answer.
Not to get too earthy, but I meant what I said...even my bladder held out for the 4 hours!

lol I was just thinking about scheduling time to watch and sitting down for a long time. I hadn't even thought about bathroom breaks.

I just didn't want to break the spell!
I have never reacted to anyone(including Benedict) as I did when Andrew came on stage...it was just electric!

I know, isn't it wonderful?!
I still remember the shiver, when Andrew came on stage.

Re: Andrew Scott as Hamlet @Almeida Theatre in Spring 2017

Oh yes!
I'm sure I stopped breathing. Which happened again and again through the entire evening. Never seen anything remotely like it. This man re-defined theatre for me. Standing on that stage, speaking words from human being to human beings, from heart to heart, connecting us in this shared experience - never seen & felt anything like that. It was magic. Pure magic for me.
And although I know a TV broadcast won't come close to the power of a theatre experience, this one will be a special one.

Wow, he is fantastic!  I know those of you who went have already told me this, but I wondered how well it would translate on to TV screen.  Well, it translates all right!  Love the whole production, the other actors, etc. too.

Re: Andrew Scott as Hamlet @Almeida Theatre in Spring 2017

I couldn´t resist, watched it online and I don´t regret it one bit. Fantastic cast, fantastic sets and they were very innovative and intriguing with the use of modern gadgets - cameras, fake news, "Death of Gonzago" play and so on... wonderful experience!
