Didn't the Moriarity bit give you a little chill! Some interesting fanfic could come out of that, a pre-Holmsian Moriarity and Watson adventure of some sort.

Yeah, that would be rather cool. I've read a couple of fics regarding Watson and Moran knowing each other through the army, but never Moriarty.
