Well, Martin has always said that he will turn down any script that he doesn't find interesting. The only interesting thing about a commercial like that is the money. He is probably paid much more by the hour for that commercial than he would in any movie.

I think it´s good for an actor to be seen and to gather attention of the public.
So no surprise he would appear in commercials from time to time.

Oh, let me get one thing straight - I am not criticising him. I am one of those who actually have no trouble at all with actors taking jobs for the money and not just because they "luuuuve the art".
