Reading what they said, I tend to believe not a single word. No money to pay for the original skull picture (but using an Aston Martin and a helicopter and going to Morocco for a single scene).

To be honest, I was surprised the artist charged for showing his pic. I would pay them to show mine so prominently. That's what product placement is about…

Wait what? When did they tell us about the picture?

Mark talked about it at the con. I cannot find a link but he was very clear on the fact that they could not afford the rent and Arwel created a skull of his own. Why this skull started to glow in some scenes ... well.

Thank you.
Maybe they just didn't want to afford the rent.

I hope they were serious about S4 not being the end. With everything else, I can't believe much of what they say, most of it being (bad?) jokes or (white?) lies. But they most likely want it that way, and that's (more or less) fine then. :-p

I think they are probably telling the truth that they'd like to do it. Hopefully at some point in the future, they'll get together and bash out some ideas. The difficulty then will be getting everybody on board, I suppose. But maybe if it's a few years in the future, it's possible.

Provided they keep in mind the biological factor (the age of some of the actors). Or we get a teary burial for Mrs Hudson, Mummy and Daddy.

I think they need Benedict and Martin above all, and it would be possible (if not desirable!) to do a show with just them and none of the regular cast. Especially if they took it out of London. It would be possible to write around any member of the cast, I suppose, if they knew they wouldn't be available (due to death, sadly, or retirement or other reasons, such as working on another project). Moftiss would just need to know in advance before writing.
The trouble is that, apart from the biological factor, it's probably Martin and Ben who are likely to cause most problems with scheduling!

Maybe Steven Moffat should not say things like "Mary shot Sherlock nicely". No idea if he was joking but this is just stupid.
I have read the exact wording of his speech here:
and to be honest, I have not seen more disgusting, deranged and repulsive piece of nonsense in my life...

Well personally I am so delighted to see Steven expressing my own thoughts so perfectly.
To me it's always been obvious and I really don't understand why people make such a huge fuss about Mary.
Or at least I know why some do...
Love Steven.

Sorry, still nonsense.

I've seen much nonsense written about Sherlock, but I am pleased to announce, none of it from the master(Steven).

It´s nonsense and also inconsistent and demented.
John is shot just to his shoulder at the beginning of the tale and within the storyline we are lead to believe this is some kind of a tragedy... then other person is shot near the heart and nearly dies and yet the thing doesn´t metter much, because it was done "nicely"....
I won´t mince words: it´s a load of piffle.

It's Steven expressing his vision for the show, so it works for me.
I never saw John being shot as a tragedy.
Yes John had nightmares about the war, but I suspect they were about a lot more than him being shot.
But anyway, like Sherlock, he got over it and moved on

Which doesn´t change anything on the fact that his vision is a baloney....
Offline
Well it's his vision I watch on BBC Sherlock and why I love it, my fvourite TV show.

I think John's nightmares seem to be about loss: I think it's clear that he is bereft and probably depressed after being invalided out. Sherlock puts that right for him.
I think what Steven says is fine, and it fits with what we're shown. Yes, Sherlock has clearly forgiven Mary very early on. I think when we're shown her past, it's also maybe not as bad as expected. I think shooting Sherlock is a terrible thing, but she didn't seem to see another option at the point. Sherlock has previously given John something that he thought was an unknown, hallucinogenic and possibly dangerous drug without his knowledge, then deliberately tries to terrify him, to help with a case - also not a great thing to do. But it means, I think, that he can understand Mary doing something that will be painful and possibly dangerous in the short-term. It makes sense.
I think Sherlock and John forgive, but I'm not so sure about Mary - throwing herself in front of the bullet and then apologising for shooting Sherlock indicates to me that she still might have been carrying some guilt and regret over it and wanted to atone.
Anyway, it's good of the person to share Steven's thoughts on it!

Steven's wording and sense of humour might have been misinterpreted... and as always I struggle to believe a word of what he and Mark says. I know them to be trolls and won't get worked up over a choice of word...

That's an attitude I try to share. :-/
