Horrible day in London! A man drove across Westimnster Bridge and knocked down several people, crashed into the gates outside the Houses of Parliament and stabbed a police officer! Reports are at least two people have been killed.
I wasn't in the direct area but my office is next to the river close to London Bridge and we could hear the helicopters hovering over the Thames.
My thoughts are with everyone affected.

Nasty business and it will just happen more a more...

Sadly some French students caught up in it, too.

I'm really sorry for anyone affected in any way.
This is a horrible 'trend'

An awful fact of modern living.

In a way, I don't know how the news of this surprised me. Maybe I was under the illusion that some places were less likely to have this happen than others. Maybe I thought the European countries on the "mainland" were somehow more of a target. Or maybe just because it's been some times since anything like this last happened. I don't know. I hope anyone on this forum who lives in London or near it is safe.

Certainly speaking as an Englishwoman living in Scotland...London always seems a very obvious and big target to me.
But I will continue to go there.
Yes, all of the Sherlockian family seem to have been coming together with love, sympathy and hoping everyone is safe.

I met my friend for dinner after work today and we walked past Trafalgar Square where they were holding a candle lit vigil. It's weird see so many police on the streets, many armed, reassuring presence though I suppose.
But as ever, Londoners and everyone in this great city is very resilient and Terrorism wont stop us from going out and doing what we normally do.

Yes, my workmates were concerned about me still coming down to London next month.
But as I said, more reason to do so, to stick two fingers up to the terrorists: we are not afraid.
