Re: First Impressions...

Glad to hear!

But, omg, Sherlock's "I don't want to die" - I thought I would lose it then. My heart shattered into a thousand pieces.

That was intense! So many great lines, and this one is there right on top of them all!

Re: First Impressions...

Yes, that was a really tense scene with Culverton and the hospital bed - I thought Culverton was going to kiss him at one point before he killed him.  I almost wondered if they regretted leaving out the creepy bedside Magnussen scene, and used elements here.

Very, very moving performance from Benedict.  He looked so vulnerable at several points in this episode.

Re: First Impressions...

Just want to leave this here. This episode was bad for my mental health (thank goodness for my best friend being here) but I'm going to need some time... and sleep before I can discuss stuff.

But one thing. Go Hudders!!!!

Now I'll wait for the sleep aids to get me to calm down...

Re: First Impressions...

Everyone's acting in this episode was amazing! The hospital scene with Culverton was so well done!

Re: First Impressions...

Yeah... the ep was so gooood that I'm seriously contemplating going to work tomorrow just to pester my colleagues (none of whom watches the show...) with the awesomeness of it, and it's actually my day off! Ha!
(but let's see how the night on the net goes...)

I'm so glad you all liked it, guys. Can't imagine what Moftiss thought would be so terribly divisive about this ep!

Re: First Impressions...

So John flirted with Sherlock's sister, that's not weird at all.

Seriously though, I knew the bus stop lady was more than a simple flirt for John, I figured she was the lady in red and recognised her as the therapist but didn't clock on to her being a Holmes sibling until she started her reveal.

I'm really looking forward to finding out what happened in their past!

Re: First Impressions...

I loved how this episode so absolutely captured me.
During the first episode, I was distracted, it was a very different feeling.
This episode was like 5 minutes... my eyes were glued to the screen from the first moment.

If it is so easy to write such an awesome episode... why don't they do it every time? I was slightly disappointed with episode one and now this one made it all up ten times!!

Re: First Impressions...

Fantastic episode, completely on par with S1 and S2!
Very solidly written and fantasticly acted. And what threats we had inside!
Sherlock´s back to deductions! Hurray!
BAMF Mrs. Hudson!
John and Sherlock are finally speaking and John opens up about his feelings!
Sherlock quoting Henry V. during a rage = canonical "oysters" that I hoped would appear in some form during an ep. And they did!
The original "Dying Detective" was actually quite faithfully adapted - and despite that, every moment felt surprising.
The feeeeelsss about Sherlock´s and John´s situation!
And that nasty rug pull at the end!
It finally feels like old times!

What is the use of having powers, Doctor, when one has no field upon which to exert them?

Re: First Impressions...

To me it seemed that Smith looked to women like wants to abuse them. And then when he was at Sherock's bed I thought he'll kiss him.

Honestly this villain is the creepiest of all.

Re: First Impressions...

I know fully well that there where much more meaningful scenes, but: Did Lady Smallwood just hit on Mycroft? And did he actually seem interested?

Also loved Mrs. Hudson. And the hug. And John's confession.

But: What did Mr. and Mrs. Holmes do to their children?

(I am tired and have a bad cold, so I will leave of a more qualified discussion for tomorrow)
