Oh I really like Mycroft so whilst story-wise I think it would be interesting, personally I'm not sure how I would feel if it turns out that Mycroft has been planning something all along. If Sherlock and Mycroft go against each other then someone will have to "lose" and I don't want either of them to!

Exactly my thought.
Also, it would not make sense for Mycroft to be involved with the criminal world, like Moriarty - when he has so much actual political power at hand.
Why be some shady little criminal, when you can be a dictator with your skills?

But maybe he is a dictator?!

Then why waste your time with a petty crime?

Well we don't know what else he may have been involved in.

The man with all that power would definitely not finance the cabbie murderer in ASIP and reward him for poisoning random people. What would be a point in doing that? Can you imagine Mycroft being involved in such random nonsense?
That aside, some preview of TLD:

Sounds good!

Sounds brilliant. Seeing an episode through Sherlock's drugged mind will surely give us loads of stuff to interpret! Yay!!!

Wow, they have been very efficient with taking down the chess pic! I even checked my local folder just in case. Still there - so no Moriarty-level hacking was involved
The copyright notices mentioned that the marketing efforts would be negated so maybe it's a marketing issue first and foremost. Moftiss wouldn't act to repair the leak because they know too well: the fandom would latch onto this single so far innocent (altho extremely sexy) pic. But now the marketing guys got trigger happy and made everything worse, so Moftiss are probably facepalming themselves right about now.
Czechs claim it was once again them who leaked the picture. LOL!

Haha, Phantom!
On a more somber note, a thought just occured to me. I reckon you guys are familiar with the trope of the mentor dying. Seen in countless movies/series - Star Wars, LotR and Harry Potter comes to mind.
What often preceeds the death, is that the mentor becomes more actively involved with the hero's life. (This was a clue to more experienced readers that Dumbledore would die in book 6 - for the first time, he became actively involved in Harry's life instead of just pulling the strings from the background).
Now, we've seen Mycroft quite a bit in TST, and from what I understand, he might be targetted (and thus probably more involved) in TLD.
Could this mean that they are following the mentor trope?

Unless it twins ! (Not a John Watson impersination)
