hmm, not quite sure if I am happy about that or not. I am still not a fan of the prolonged fighting in TST, but I will just keep my fingers crossed that this time it will do something to forward the plot. I have no problem with action scene per se, only with those that feel like they have been done just for the sake of adding some 007 flavour
Same here.
I hope Mark is just teasing us and all the fighting will take place on the intellectual level.

I agree about the fighting in TST... it got a bit too much and too 'violence for the sake of violence'... that's not what I'm into. Not that I don't want any violence and action... but it can, and has been done in better ways before! (like the Vatican Cameos scene in ASiB that was choreographed)

Possibly that's the Paul McGuigan effect.

I guess this has already been shared and I just overlooked it, but just in case (not sure if this should go here or in the other thread, but here is safer anyway):

Ha ha.
Thanks for sharing.
He is brilliant!
I particularly loved the response on Moriarty in the basement...my thoughts entirely!

I just saw the chess picture and remembered one of the code words for 04 was Chess.
I can't get Sherlock as Alice through the looking glass out of my mind . She progressed through defeating various chess pieces , tasks and obstacles to be promoted to queen . 👑

Wow, that look! "If a look could kill..."

Speaking of the chess promo shot. It was all over tumblr yesterday that the creators ask that it be removed. That it had been leaked prematurely and gave something away. Anyone hear anything else about this? And what could it possibly have given away?

That Mycroft will survive the next episode?

I always wonder where is the primary sourse of such pictures? Where can we check whether it's been removed or not? How can we know that the creators asked to remove it? I mean, they can't be asking the fans on twitter, right?
Besides, I'm a sucker for chess boards and the picture is already on my desk top. It can't be removed from there, ever
As for the spoiler - maybe we don't know whether Mycroft is alive by the end of the second ep?
On the other hand, it's just a promo shot (see background) so it proves nothing.

Oh, Schmiezi, I've cross posted :o
Also, that picture reveals a game between Mycroft and Sherlock... So maybe Mycroft is the big baddie (who's doing what he's doing for the greater good, of course).

true, I think asking to remove it will only fuel speculation. Until now, it was just another promo.pic

My guess is that it refers to TFP, and so was meant to be released after TLD.

Yeah I saw that apparently people were getting copyright notices which also said that the picture included spoilers that would ruin the viewer experience.
I guess the game between Sherlock and Mycroft could be interpreted as a spoiler if there is to be a showdown between them of sorts but I can't see anything that's outright a spoiler.

Well maybe the mere possibility of the Holmes brothers playing against each other is a spoiler for casual viewers but not for us. We've been worrying about Mycroft since TAB (and even earlier, what with the M-Theory and stuff)...

I don't think it is a spoiler either (unless, as mentioned, there's a cliffhanger over one of them being alive! But we have seen from the trailer that they are all present in TFP ). My prediction has been that TST is about Mary, TLD is about John, and TFP is about Mycroft. So no surprise that Mycroft is playing chess with Sherlock, symbolically. It suggests something about their relationship, but doesn't give away the plot any more than the trailer, I don't think. Possibly it will seem like more of a spoiler in retrospect!
I don't know if this is a spoiler, just my thought, maybe it's the combination of the picture and the quote "someone has been playing a very long game indeed" - well, we're meant to think Moriarty. But I think the villain is either going to be Mycroft, or temporarily, Sherlock. Showing them playing a game kind of confirms that, and maybe that's the spoiler.

Speaking of that chess picture... should I take it down?
I might be thick but I can't see what it spoils... but maybe we'll know after TLD?

Yes, but even with that knowledge I cannot see anything particular spoilery in that picture, but I'll guess it will become clear in retrospective.

Where did you post it? If it's in the Official Releases thread, then might be best to move it.
I have a feeling it's TFP, but I'm maybe not basing that on any hard evidence! I could be influenced by thinking TFP is about Mycroft. But I do think it has that sort of feel, from what we've seen of the trailer, etc.

Very clever!
PS I love how that picture has suddenly become so much more excitingI would love that actually. Mycroft would make a great villain to Sherlock (also it might ensure Mycroft's continued survival, since I have the distinct feeling that they are setting him up for something big, I'd rather have him ending up as the big bad than dead).
