Oh that's cool that you're self taught, your English is perfect!
I think it can be used in a positive way but it definitely has more of a negative connotation for me.
On tumblr some people have pointed out that in that clip the bird wallpaper shown in the baby's nursery is very similar to the wallpaper from the wedding reception and also that the flat seems to be inconsistant with what was shown in the MHR (a door has suddenly appeared) not sure what that means, if anything, but they are interesting observations.

I never thought the flat in MHR was the same as the one he lives in with Mary? I just thought that he movd out of Baker Street to some small flat on his own, and then he moved in with Mary into a bigger housing later on.
Edit: I see now that it doesn't match TEH either.
Then again, this looks very odd. You see the front door and the coats hanging on the wall, and a staircase leading upstairs - so it looks like a hallway to me. So why would they have a couch and a tv set in the hallway?

The TV in the hallway struck me as odd as well but then I thought what do I know about British architecture!
Update on the Russian translation: The Final Problem will be apparently translated as "The Last Case" - which is the word-by-word (if slightly nuanced) translation of the original ACD story's title into Russian too. Stand down red alert.

Well, when I grew up, we did actually once move the couch and the tv to the hallway - because we were changing the floor of the living room. Perhaps John is redecorating?

So who's in London today?

About the room ... British architecture has a lot of styles, and it's not unheard of for the front door to open into the living room (or for the staircase to be in the living room). I've lived in a couple of older houses like that, and have a friend who lives in one now. It can be a bit draughty, hence the curtain over the door.
It's much too big to just be a hallway in any normal-sized house!

What is Mrs. Hudson doing in Watson´s flat, I wonder?
She heard their exchange at Baker Street during HLV, so that means she knows that Mary shot Sherlock.
And yet she dotes over her and John and their baby?
Bizarre.... is she another character who doesn´t care about the actual injuries done to Sherlock?

People usually aren't that black or white. Fussing over a baby doesn't mean you can't care about someone's injuries. I don't think there is any doubt throughout the show that Mrs Hudson cares a great deal about Sherlock.

Youku releases different countdown pictures, pay attention to the details:
Lipstick and I LOVE U on the pipe, Sherlock's face, I'm a high functioning sociopath; 27.07.1880 (Maiwand? John's injury?), www.... a web address? don't know but at the top of the picture it says People have died | That's what people do
(lifted partially from Ruther's twitter comments)
Alone is what I have. Alone protects me.
Also, the etching on the top of the violin seems to continue the naval theme altho I can't make out the words (Portugal?)
Edit the 100th: are these blood stains on the threshold???

Oooh very interesting posters, love all the little clues. Is that lipstick or blood on the pipe?
Offline
It looks textured so I'd say lipstick. Blood would drop more... smoothly, I think.

More of the wall is gone behind Mary.
It looks sort of like a really grand entrance hall.
Reminds me of the estate of Lady Carmchael in TAB.
