Maybe I will be in London at the time. This would be amazing! Because I cannot believe that they would show it only in US cinemas, right?

It would be odd if they only did it in the US. Then again, the partnership is quite specific. But maybe there are other partnerships in the works that simply aren't mentioned (because they wouldn't be on this company's site).

Bloody hell.
It IS gonna be the end of an era if they are showing it in the cinemas!

If they do that I really hope the Danish theaters realize what a success showing TAB was and buys the rights this time as well. It was hard work getting them to do it last time; but they did!

It was only just the other day someone on this forum said they'd like to see more Sherlock in cinemas...I wonder if someone was listening, LOL
Offline
It looks like this is happening in the UK too (maybe this was announced earlier, but I had been unable to find it). Great news!

TBH I'd much rather just watch the final episode from home . . . although the 20 min of bonus footage sounds interesting

Maybe the bonus footage will also be on the DVD set.

I highly doubt it...
We German speaking and French (and Italian and Spanish?) Sherlock fans in Europe are fecked. I know there are tv programs for example in the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, some Scandinavian countries, even the Czech Republic, South American countries, Turkey and many more that show the new Season the same day or 1-2 days later.
But nothing over here. I really wonder why. What do we pay our obligatory tv charges for???

Part of me would like to see it in the cinema but part of me also thinks that the episode is probably going to turn me into an emotional mess so I think watching it from the safety of my home where I can recover with a cup of tea will probably be better

I'm going to watch it at home when it premiers and then again at the theater. At least when I watch it at the theater I'll be prepared for what ever is coming.

Oh that's a good idea! I read somewhere that it was only going to be in cinemas on the air date over here which is a shame as I'd love to see it afterwards as well. Maybe if enough people go they will.

Well, apparently the ARD in Germany has not even bothered to buy the rights yet...

And if they haven't, I'm sure the channels in Austria and Switzerland don't have either. As they have the potential to serve the same audience...
If the ORF had the rights, everyone in Germany would watch ORF and wouldn't even bother with the ARD. :D

Confirmed screening of TFP for the UK and Ireland on the 15th Jan.
Would be good if they were screening it in more countries so you guys could all get to see it in the cinema.

This afternoon my family went to see Rogue One. That was exciting enough. But right before the movie they showed a commercial for the Fathom Event Final Problem screening. Which means I got to see the S4 trailer on an IMAX screen! I thought my eyes were going to pop out of my head.
