Re: Chit-chat

Now we all know how Davina looks in bed.  Get well soon, Davina.

Re: Chit-chat

Thank you. Cold is still brewing I think. You know, a bit like a pot of tea.

Had a lovely (sarcasm) morning of ghastly chores like pulling ragwort (poisonous weed) from a winter field so the horses don't eat it. An hour's work and a full wheelbarrow of the bloody stuff. What's worse is this is the third barrow load this week because a neighbour can't be bothered to do theirs and the seeds blow everywhere!

Oh dear this seems to have mutated into a rant...which is another thread...never mind I'm just going to be a rebel today and it will have to stay here.

They say 'feed a cold and starve a fever' so I'm trying testing that theory out. By eating...not starving! Lol

My motto is feed a cold and feed a fever, but then, that's a subject for another day.  heh
Feel better soon, Davina! Summer colds are rather ghastly in their own way-- worse than the winter
ones, somehow. I hope yours dries up and goes away without getting any worse.

Re: Chit-chat

feel better soon,  davina!!    feed your cold,  but starve the fever.   I  suggest grandma's chicken soup.   seven up  will do,  too.   How about a Shirley Temple movie?

Re: Chit-chat

I'd rather have a cocktail! I'm being forced to go to an Italian meal tonight. I suppose I might just be able to force myself to eat. Lol
Maybe I should try a hot toddie.

The question is...
Who is this Todd and why is he hot? Lol

Re: Chit-chat

Well, here's another word I didn't know of. It turns out a Hot-Toddy is Alcohol, sugar and spices all heated up, a bit like mulled wine I guess? (Expect this seems to look a bit like wee...

I was wondering if you'd like to have coffee...
Hmm. I really don't know. Oh, I'm sorry, did I say 'know'? I meant 'care'. I don't really care.

Re: Chit-chat

It's weird because we all live in different places - but it seems that the cold is going around at the moment, doesn't it?
Maybe it's because of the weather. People are still used to the summer temperatures that they don't put on enough clothes.

Ugh, school is so tiring...
anyway, I'm going to watch Parade's End episode 2 now.

Re: Chit-chat

No colds here yet, and it's still hot out, too Although we did get early dismissals from school because of the heat the past two days, which seems to be the only good thing about 30+ degree heat

Hope you get better soon, Davina!

We have to wait until spring for Parade's End, and even then it's only going to be on HBO Have fun watching it, though!

Have you heard that PE will be on next spring on HBO? I had so hoped for late this fall or over Christmas or something. Why do they make us wait so long? *whine* This is just a foreshadowing of what we're going to go through when Sherlock's season 3 is finally shown in the UK. We'll be so thoroughly "spoilered" by the time we finally see it, and will have waited so long, we'll be wrung out. *more whining*

Re: Chit-chat

I don't know, I thought I saw spring...I bet it's on YouTube, though...I'll go look it up when I have the time.

Re: Chit-chat

Hot whisk(e)y with sugar or honey and maybe lemon. Drink enough of them and cold symptoms ease off. Strangely enough! Lol

Where is a good place to watch PE online? Is there a website that's free and not loaded with spyware and leaving me open to a ton of spam? Thanks for any info about that.

As for the DVDs, I'll betcha anything they won't be sold here in the US until after HBO has shown all the episodes. This all leaves me feeling as though I live on the dark side of the moon. Oh, well.

Re: Chit-chat

Some things aren't available in Germany, either. Or sometimes not in original language.
I order from amazon.co.uk then. I think it's possible also from the US, of course there are some shipping costs and you need a credit card I think....

Re: Chit-chat

There may be additional import charges also for the US, since it is not in the EU.

Morning all, by the way. Most of the kiddies in this area go back to school this week. So busy roads at school run time. The weather, of course, is lovely!

Re: Chit-chat

I downloaded the 1st series of Parade's End here http://www.filestube.com/search.html?q=parades+end&select=avi
It is available in all countries I believe.
By the way, I gonna watch it once again as I've understood only about half of all dialogues during my first watching((.

Sherlock: "I need to get some air, we're going out tonight."
John: "Actually, I've uh, got a date."
Sherlock: "What?"
John: "It's where two people who like each other go out and have fun."
Sherlock: "That's what I was suggesting."
