That's really nice! I hope they had a nice little celebration.
This isn't meant to be attention-seeking, but I made a simple little graphic with Ben's character names and his name for his 40th. He's played so many different characters!
(Unfortunately, I haven't seen everything that I included a character name for, though I have seen a number of them, but I had to fit names into his name so I had to find names that fit, even if I didn't know the character already.)
I'm not the best and graphic design/editing stuff, but I still enjoy creating stuff once in a while.

Thanks. I wasn't sure what topic to share it in, but since it was for his birthday and we were talking about that, I thought I'd just slip it in there.

Many years ago I read a book which was sort of an encyclopedia of actors (before internet). The entry for Jeremy Irons started with the sentence "The thinking girl's pin-up". I thought that was a brilliant description, and I think it's a line that suits just as well for Ben.

Indeed it does.

Perfect description!

Wow:
I think every now and then someone comes along, like Isaac Newton, like Albert Einstein, like Benedict Cumberbatch, where they are far beyond anyone else’s talent in what it is they do,” he said. “That is the best evidence that aliens are sending us people because they know that we’re lagging behind and we need some help to get better actors, better scientists, better whatever. So I count him [Cumberbatch] as definitely an alien.

Well that's a compliment (and a much better use of the alien thing)

Wow, that is some high praise...I love Neil.

Just saw in an interview for Dr. Strange that Benedict refers to his son as "Kit."
(Hoping this is the correct topic in which to mention this)
