Just booked three tickets for Sunday, for me and my fellow Benaddicts. I'm excited, everyone is telling me handkerchief are required.

Have a great time Ivy! handkerhiefs are very, very much needed!
I'm going to see it again at the actual premiere on the 29th... and going to go alone this time.
I'm glad I had my friend with me... but sadly she has a habit of commenting during the film pulling me out of certain things.
I just hope this film wins an award, I wanted it to before I saw it and now I just know it has to win something!

Thought I'd put this here.
Just seen a docu-drama on ' Yesterday' : 'Codebreaker'.
It really was an excellent telling of the Alan Turing story and actually made The Imitation Game a lot clearer to me.

So this is very good news:
And it makes me proud that it was to a great extent this film that brought the public attention and commitment which finally made this possible. Not just for Alan Turing but all the men who were victims of this horrible law.

That is indeed good news!!!

It is good! Too bad so many, if not all of them, have not lived to see this.

I'm happy it's happening, but it's a bit late

Better late than not at all. And in Germany there will be a law soon which is going to pay damages to and rehabilitate men sentenced under the notorious § 175 for having consensual sex.
Offline
I will never understand why it would be illegal with consensual sex between adults. It's really no one's business who decides to have whatever type of sex with whomever as long as everyone involved is consenting and adult. Or so I think anyway.
Good news, though!

Blame the Victorians, Vhanja.
The UK is slowly catching up!

I heard this on the news the other day. I suppose it's part of Turing's already impressive legacy that he (unknowingly!) helped bring this about.

I wish he could have known...

The Imitation Game is on Film4 now for anyone in the UK

Oh yes I remember now...I'm going to bed soon though and have the dvd anyway.

Does anybody have the two-disc version of the DVD and can please tell me what the extras are?
