From Screen Daily: Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hanks donate (signed) treasures to an eBay auction for charity Anno’s Africa, which runs educational arts projects for slum children and AIDS orphans in Nairobi.

Oh, I only discovered this thread now, what a shame. Because I think his charity work indeed deserves a thread of its own.
So let's start with this. Benedict will be guest of honour in charity gala on 21 October:
GEANCO FOUNDATION HOLLYWOOD GALA
The GEANCO Foundation will honor humanitarian and Oscar-nominee Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game, Sherlock, Marvel’s Doctor Strange) for his passionate advocacy on behalf of vulnerable women and children around the world.
Event proceeds will fund our medical and educational programs in Nigeria, including our David Oyelowo Leadership Scholarship for Girls, which provides scholarships for girls impacted by acts of terrorism.
